Spider-Man Universes: Across The Spider-Verse
We essentially made five movies in one. There will be as many as five universes and each of them will be great. Miles Morales through Gwen Stacy's Earth-65, Spider-Man India's Mumbattan, Spider-Man 2099's Nueva York, and Spider-Man Punk's New London. The fifth universe, for the moment, remains a secret. The villain of Across The Spider-Verse will be The Spot (La Macchia), voiced by well-known actor Jason Schwartzman. In the Marvel comics he is a scientist who is hired by the Kingpin to commit various crimes, including that of replicating Cloak's powers. The mission was not a success and he found himself covered in blotches all over his body. Not simple spots, but real dark portals that allow him to transport himself wherever he wants and make anyone and anything disappear at will. The film will hit theaters on July 2 . The return to the voice cast of Oscar Isaac (Spider-man 2099), Shameik Moore (Miles Morales) and Hailee Steinfeld (Ghost-Spider) has been confirmed.
Across The Spider-Verse will only be the first sequel to Into The Spider-Verse (2018). In fact, Beyond The Spider-Verse, the third chapter of the saga, will arrive in theaters on March 29, 2024: according to the producers, there will be over 100 variants of Spidey present in both films. Into The Spider-Verse grossed $375.5 million worldwide and won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature at the 91st Academy Awards in February 2019.
