When it comes to the workplace, not everyone can afford to choose their favorite smartphone, especially if they are constantly dealing with sensitive information. This is why many companies are never looking for the latest in technology but instead aim for solid, stable products with frequent and long-term security updates.

If you are looking for a smartphone that reflects these prerogatives and you were aiming at the products of Xiaomi or its sub-brands, here is a list of the company's devices that have received the Android Enterprise Recommended (AER) “stamp” from Google. But what does this acronym mean? What products are part of the program and how long will they be updated?



Android Enterprise Recommended or AER is a certification for enterprise devices and service providers issued by Google. Products with this seal meet Google's stringent requirements for enterprise products in terms of software and hardware and can be used with confidence by companies.

In the following tables, therefore, you can find several smartphones (and a recent tablet!) which according to Google are safe for use in a business environment both from a hardware and software point of view.

And while all the products listed below receive updates at least every 90 days, there are a few others factors to keep in mind when evaluating the smartphone to buy. For example, it is right to know when the smartphone was placed on the market, because the most recent smartphones will receive updates for longer unlike other models that may be towards the end of their support period.

Another fundamental data to check is the end date of the security updates, in order to be ready to replace the device (or at least not use it to process extremely sensitive data) at the end of the support. Knowing how many updates to the Android system the smartphone you are evaluating will receive is also important, so that you know if the product will receive the news thought by Google for a long time.
