LEGO Avatar: the sets of the new theme linked to Cameron's film are available today

All LEGO Avatar sets, the new theme dedicated to the James Cameron film of the same name and its sequel, are now available for purchase. There are a total of five sets inspired by the world of Pandora, its Na'vi inhabitants, its fauna and vehicles, mechas and aircraft of the RDA - Resources Development Administration, the largest and most important imaginary non-governmental organization in the universe of Avatar. LEGO Disney # 75574 Toruk Makto and the Tree of Souls

The set tells the scene in which protagonist Jake Sully decides to stay on Pandora and uses the tree of souls to transfer his mind into his body of his Avatar once and for all. Meanwhile, Jake's Avatar becomes a Toruk Makto, able to mount and control a Toruk, the largest and most feared predator of Pandora's skies that humans call the scientific name Leonopteryx rex.

The name by which the Na'vi call him, Toruk, means "Last Shadow", due to his tactic of swooping from above, which makes him for his prey the last shadow they see in their life. He has a very important role in the culture of the Na'vi because very few were able to tame him, binding himself to one of them through the tsaheylu, becoming Toruk Makto, Knight of the Last Shadow. Only five Na'vi warriors have become Toruk Makto before Jake, who in the film's finale joins them and commands the Na'vi against the RDA.

The set is a real playset, as it includes the buildable model of the Tree of Souls and the Toruk, as well as 3 environments with fluorescent elements, the 4 minifigures of Jake Sully (Sam Worthington), his beloved Neytiri (played in the film by Zoe Saldana), Mo ' at (mother of Neytiri and spiritual leader of the Omaticaya clan, in the film played by CCH Pounder) and of Tsu'Tey (the best of the warriors and hunters of the clan, in the film played by Laz Alonso) and to a Direhorse (scientific name: Equidirus hoplites) complete with tsaheylu, the "neural tails" (the tendrils) that allow the Na'vi to create a bio-neuro-chemical bond with their mounts that allows them to feel the one (the rider) the body of the other (the ridden creature) as his own. The Avatar theme.

The sets anticipate the arrival in the hall of the sequel, Avatar 2: La Via dell'Acqua, scheduled for December 14 in Italy . Rest assured: no spoiler risk: they are all sets linked to the first film, that of 2009.

The arrival on the digital shelves of lego.com and on the physical ones of the LEGO (Certified) Stores was anticipated by Stephanie Young, head of consumer products, games and publishing at The Walt Disney Company, who in an interview with License Global, had given many details on the merchandising products in production alongside the Avatar films, including the new LEGO sets. br>
The exact quote reads:

“The LEGO Group will launch a new theme and a new line of sets to recreate and visualize the main moments of the film in both the first Avatar movie and Avatar II”

It is therefore confirmed directly by the holder of the license rights that there will be sets coming which will be based on both the original film and its sequel. The world of Pandora is perfect for a LEGO theme, with a mix of aliens, humans, vehicles, aircraft and various creatures.



In a very detailed interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Steve Asbell, the president of 20th Century Studios, had later confirmed that Avatar 2 is also on the long list of feature films coming in 2022, adding "no one is ready for what we are about to see". These are the words of him, referring to director James Cameron:

“Avatar will be released in 2022, I'm serious. You will all be speechless. You are not ready for what Jim did ”

The story of Avatar 2 is currently kept under wraps, but it will extend the mythology of the first film: the human Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldana), the alien from the Na'vi population, the couple starring in the first film, have formed a family and much of the film will focus on their children. When an ancient threat reappears, they will be forced to leave their home and explore new territories on the planet Pandora. It seems that Cliff Curtis, one of the actors, will be Tonowari, the leader of a new underwater faction of the Na'vi, known as Metkayina and the actors have had to become expert diving, as shown in a Tweet on the official profile of the film:
