Hogwarts Legacy: a gameplay video takes us on a tour of the four Houses

We have posted on our YouTube channel a gameplay video of Hogwarts Legacy in which we can take a tour of the historic four Houses of the Hogwarts school of magic, namely Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin.

The movie therefore allows us to admire the work done by the developers of Avalanche to give life to the common rooms of the students, which as you can see exude a disproportionate love for the Harry Potter universe and demonstrate a painstaking care for the details.

In Hogwarts Legacy we will play the role of a student of the prestigious school of magic and as in the Harry Potter books and films we will become part of one of the great Houses, with the player who will be free to choose which to join. In practice, the Sorting Hat test will be just a simple formality.

Below is an overview of the history of the four Houses and how they were represented within Hogwarts Legacy:

Gryffindor

The house is named after Godric Gryffindor , one of the four founders of Hogwarts. Gryffindor is said to have ordered the Sorting Hat to choose the students who possessed the characteristics of him that he said most noble: courage, kindness and determination. The symbol of the house is a lion and its colors are gold and red. It is located inside the Gryffindor Tower, the third tallest tower in the castle after the Astronomy Tower and the Black Raven Tower, and is accessed by passing behind the portrait of the Fat Lady, on the seventh floor. The Common Room of Gryffindor is a welcoming room with a round floor plan, furnished with soft armchairs. The floor is covered with a vermilion red and gold carpet, while the walls are covered with drapes and tapestries in the colors of the House.

Hufflepuff

Hufflepuff, or Hufflepuff in the new translation, was founded by the medieval witch Tosca Hufflepuff. Hufflepuff is the most inclusive of the four houses: she values ​​hard work, dedication, patience, loyalty and fairness rather than a particular attitude in her members. The animal of the emblem is a badger and yellow and black are the dominant colors. The Hufflepuff's den is located in the basement of the Castle, next to the school's kitchens. The entrance to the common room is located in the same corridor that leads to the kitchens of Hogwarts. The safety system for repelling non-Hufflepuffs makes sure that if you knock on the wrong barrel, or hit the wrong number of times, the lid of one of the other barrels pops off, flooding the intruder with vinegar. The common room is a large round room, furnished with plants of all kinds, with vases that also descend from the ceiling.

Ravenclaw

The Ravenclaw house is due to the witch Corinna Ravenclaw and her members are they are distinguished by intelligence and wisdom. The animal symbol of the house is an eagle, and its colors are blue and bronze. The Ravenclaw Tower is located on the west side of the castle and is the second tallest after the Astronomy Tower. The door to the common room is located at the top of a high spiral staircase. It has no handle, but an enchanted bronze knocker in the shape of an eagle. When there is a knock on the door, the clapper asks a question that only Ravenclaws can answer. The room is large and airy, lit by huge pointed arch windows.The dominant color is blue and upstairs we find the polished marble sculpture representing Corinna Ravenclaw. It is described as very cold and more exposed to the elements than the other common rooms, with the central fireplace having the task of heating it.

Slytherin

And finally, Slytherin. Founded by Salazar Slytherin, it is the home of the most enterprising and ambitious wizards. It is a favorite with thoroughbred students, and although over time it has also been open to half-bloods, we don't know to date whether a Muggle-born Slytherin ever existed. The symbolic animal is the snake, while the colors of the house are green and silver. The Slytherin Dungeon is the third largest chamber in the castle, and is tucked under the black lake. The door to the common room consists of a portion of the stone wall, which will reveal the entrance only to Slytherin students with knowledge of the password. The room is furnished with sofas and armchairs, portraits and various animal skeletons. The light inside the room is greenish because it reflects the depths of the lake.
