We specify that there are no single versions only for old-gen or current gen consoles at a reduced price and therefore the "Cross-gen Bundle" actually represents the standard digital version.

Campaign, multiplayer and news

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is in effect a direct sequel to Modern Warfare 2019. The single player campaign is set three years after the final of the previous chapter: Task Force 141 it has just been created and will face a threat on a global scale, facing operations in Europe, Asia and America. Of course, there is no shortage of old and new acquaintances, such as Captain John Price, Sergeant Kyle "Gaz" Garrick, Simon "Ghost" Riley, the fearless Sergeant John "Soap" MacTavish and the new entry Alejandro Vargas, an incorruptible member of the Special Forces Mexican.

The highlight of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, however, is represented by the multiplayer modes and in this sense the new chapter has all the credentials to keep you glued to the game for many months. There is no shortage of great classics such as Deathmatch and Dominion, but there is also room for new modes, namely Prisoner Rescue, Knockout and Invasion.

Prisoner Rescue is a 6v6 tactical mode with attackers and defenders without respawn that for some verses reminiscent of Rainbow Six Siege. Attackers must extract hostages from the map or eliminate all opponents, while defenders must prevent it. The two teams switch roles at the end of each round.

In Knockout, two teams of six players must compete for a bag full of cash located in the center of the map. The team that maintains control of the swag for 60 seconds or eliminates all opponents (there are no respawns) wins.

Invasion instead proposes large-scale battles in which teams of 20 players compete against each other, and also provides for the presence of a fair number of opponents controlled by the AI, all with the rules of team deathmatches, that is, whoever eliminates the most enemies wins.

Among the novelties we also find the return of the Special Ops, or the cooperative missions to two players much appreciated by longtime fans, who in this new iteration promise to offer intense asymmetrical PvE scenarios.

In addition to the modes, the team at Infinity Ward has worked hard on the design of the maps, with the goal to make them more linear and easier to read, without sacrificing level design at the same time. There is no shortage of news also for the game mechanics. Examples include aquatic combat, the ability to grab onto a ledge without climbing over it, and the third-person view. Cross-play and Cross-progression

You want to play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 together with your friends, but do they have a different console from yours? No problem, Sledgehammer's shooter supports cross-play, which means PlayStation, Xbox and PC users can play together regardless of their platform.

Infinity Ward's shooter also supports cross-progression and therefore your progress, game statistics and digital content will be maintained even if you change the game platform, for example by switching from PS5 to Xbox Series X, as long as you continue to use the same Activision account.
