Kena: Bridge of Spirits lands on Steam with many new features

Kena: Bridge of Spirits, a journey of action and adventure with wonderful animations, will arrive on Steam next month and will receive a rather substantial update on the occasion of its anniversary. The title, in fact, was released on the Epic Games store in 2021, but will arrive on Steam in just over a month. The news in question were shown by the developers in a trailer released on YouTube.



The anniversary update of Kena: Bridge of Spirits will include, in fact, a New Game + mode with new battles, unique challenges and enemies. It will also have Spirit Guide trials focusing on using skills such as wave defense modes, obstacle courses and the ability to challenge bosses again. This new version of the Ember Lab title will also introduce a system called charmstones, doodads that can be equipped to give advantages and disadvantages in combat, allowing for a more customizable play style.| ); }
The anniversary edition of Kena: Bridge of Spirits also includes aesthetic updates from take advantage of the beginning of our adventure. Kena's wearable outfits will be unlocked via Spirit Guide Trials and will include items such as a selection of funny hats for our helper, Rot. In addition, all this will be accompanied by a revised photo mode. The title of Ember Lab is already available on Epic Games and, starting from 27 September, it will also arrive on Steam. Furthermore, the PC version of the title has already received some interesting mods.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits Gets Free Anniversary Update, Steam Release

Action-adventure game Kena: Bridge of Spirits is set to receive a free, major content update on Sept. 27, alongside finally being available to purchase on Steam.

The game was released on Sept. 21 last year for PS4, PS5, and PC, but the Epic Games Store managed to grab it as an exclusive on PC. However, as IGN reports(Opens in a new window), on Sept. 27 that changes as the exclusivity period clearly ended and the game will appear on Steam for the first time. The game listing is already live on Steam so you can add it to your wishlist(Opens in a new window).

For existing owners of the game, Sept. 27 is also important because developer Ember Lab is launching a major, free update called the Anniversary Update. The new content includes:

New Game+ is for anyone who has completed the main game and wants to play through again with everything they unlocked (abilities, upgrade, etc.) available from the start. The combat encounters will also be more challenging second time around.

Spirit Guide Trials - a new game mode consisting of replayable challenges including Obstacle Courses, Wave Defenses, and Boss Reflects.

Charmstones - can be individually equipped and adjust stats and/or abilities.

An exclusive new outfit for Kena

As a reward for completing the new Spirit Guide Trials, the game will unlock new outfits for each character Kena meets, as well as color variations of each outfit and some unique Charmstones.

Anyone who purchased the Deluxe Edition of the base game already had a number of extras included with the experience, such as a unique staff, golden Rot skin, sticker sheet, unqiue celebration hats for Rots, and the digital soundtrack. For completionists, it's still possible to pick up the Deluxe Edition on PS4 and PS5, either in digital(Opens in a new window) or physical(Opens in a new window) form. The Anniversary Update will then unlock on Sept. 27.
