Try it, Jaguar F-Pace SVR: the 550 horsepower super SUV that roars
Try it, Jaguar F-Pace SVR
From England here comes a load of emotions on (raised) wheels: it's called the F-Pace SVR and it's the high-performance version of the Jaguar's SUV. Acceleration is "burning" thanks to the supercharged 5.0-liter V8 with 550 horsepower, while the sound is goosebumps. The hoarse voice of the V8 is not a US exclusive. From the land renowned for its 5pm tea and British accent comes the "arrogance" that you would not expect with the Jaguar F-Pace SVR to show that, even in the Old Continent, there is room for exaggeration. The Special Vehicle Operation department of the House of the Jaguar has created a giant on the road, which thanks to the 5.0-liter turbocharging eight-cylinder delivers supercar power (550 horsepower) and truck-like torque (700 Nm).

The high-performance SUV category is increasingly crowded, and the Jaguar F-Pace SVR wants to be the protagonist by demonstrating concreteness also from the point of view of performance. Compared to the previous model, the update of the 8-cylinder with volumetric compressor has allowed to add 20 Nm more torque, bringing the "0-100" click to 4 seconds (3 tenths less than in the past) and the maximum speed to 286 km / h (3 more). The weight of 2,133 kilograms and the negative action of the high center of gravity vanish when you press the accelerator, with the powerful V8 sticking to the seats. - th_motorlabs_d_mh3_1 slot id: th_motorlabs_d_mh3 "); } However, even if equipped with precise steering, adaptive shock absorbers and a rigid set-up, the generous dimensions are felt when cornering but this is physiological especially in the most abrupt changes of direction. The 8-speed ZF automatic transmission is a jewel that manages to follow the powerful engine that is hidden under the hood from hand to hand without ever leaving anything to be desired.
The new Dynamic Launch feature has also been introduced on the Jaguar F-Pace SVR, which allows you to start from a standstill in the most performing way possible even if, it must be emphasized, the F-Pace SVR gives the best of himself in the 100-200 rather than in the 0-100 thanks to the important mass to be moved. The braking system has been increased with a system that can count on 395 mm discs at the front and 396 at the rear, this allows for safe and predictable stopping in all conditions.
Despite the power and acceleration of a supercar, this British SUV can make even a long journey pleasant and relaxing: the heated and cooled 14-way adjustable Performance front seats ensure an optimal and personalized driving position, while the 613-liter trunk (with the seats raised) guarantees a good load capacity. The ride comfort is then adequate in every situation, despite the large rims with reduced shoulders, even on the damned Milanese pavé.
In our test of about 500 km we were able to test it in various situations and it must be emphasized that consumption is decidedly high even when you decide to be as light as possible on the accelerator pedal. On balance, in fact, it is not at all easy to go below the average declared by Jaguar of 8 km / l, but pushing the accelerator it is not difficult to reach even 3 km / l. In any case, you will be rewarded for every euro spent on petrol thanks to the engaging and anachronistic soundtrack that distinguishes this super SUV.
Still on the subject of costs, we remind you that in Italy there is super stamp and solutions of this caliber, unfortunately, are affected by it; how much does it cost to maintain it in a year? At the level of net costs, not considering the insurance for the problems related to the count itself, for the stamp and super stamp it is necessary to shell out almost 5,000 euros per year for the first few years. However, considering the purchase target of the car, we are sure that the cost can be almost amortized without particular problems; F-Pace SVR, in the basic configuration, is available in Italy at a price of just over 115 thousand euros. For our example with 22 ”forged rims, panoramic roof, head-up display, contrasting red / black interior and other options, you need to spend just over 125 thousand euros.
In conclusion, the F-Pace SVR knows how to give strong emotions even though driving it remains a familiar and spacious car. Its sound? Let's be honest, in an era characterized by increasingly green, silent and artificial noises solutions, hearing a V8 roar again is a priceless emotion for those who still manage to appreciate the melodic timbre of endothermic engines.
