In this part of the work the group of warriors called Uesugi Bushi enters the scene. It is one of the five largest Bands of Busis, led by Tatsuomi Uesugi. Gen Urobuchi (Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Fate / Zero, Psycho-Pass) is credited with conceptualizing the anime with Tow Ubukata (Mardock Scramble, Psycho-Pass 2, Ghost in the Shell Arise) writing and supervising the scripts. huke (Black Rock Shooter, Steins; Gate) conceptualized the character designs for the anime, while Nobuhiro Sugiyama (ef: a tale of memories, Arakawa Under the Bridge, March comes in like a lion) is drawing the characters, while also serves as director of animation along with Yoshiaki Ito and Hiroki Yamamura. Nobuyuki Takeuchi (Maria Holic, Bakemonogatari) is credited for the visual direction. Nobuko Toda and Kazuma Jinnouchi are composing the music. VoidChords feat. L will perform the opening theme Beyond Selfs while Saori Hayami will perform the ending theme Awake.

Hidekazu Ebina (AMAZING STRANGER) is designing the characters and also serves as head of animation alongside Sei Komatsubara. Yukiyoshi Shikiji, Kazuhito Tomonaga and Kenta Yokoya are the main animators.
The cast sees Makoto Furukawa in the role of Ryū Terui, Mikako Komatsu in the role of Akiko Narumi, Kouki Uchiyama in the role of Filippo , Yoshimasa Hosoya in the role of Shotaro Hidari, Akira Sekine in the role of Tokime and Daisuke Ono in the role of Yukiji Bandō.
In the ecological city of Fuuto, mysterious gadgets with the appearance of USB sticks called Gaia Memories they are used by criminals and other interested parties in shady deals to transform themselves into monsters called Dopants, impossible to stop even by the police. As if that weren't enough, the Gaia Memories release a toxin that drives the guest crazy, to the point of endangering their life. After the death of his boss, self-proclaimed detective Shoutaro Hidari and the mysterious Philip investigate the crimes committed by these Dopants, in turn using Gaia Memories which, combined with their belts, allow them to transform into Kamen Rider Double to fight the Dopants and keep Fuuto safe.

Two kingdoms: the internal one, populated by normal people, and the external one, inhabited by "cursed" people. At the touch, the curse is also passed to those who are "healthy", quickly transforming them into a creature similar to a Wendigo: the inner kingdom has therefore built a wall around its territories to be able to protect itself from danger.
Just outside the boundaries delimited by the wall, at the edge of a forest, there is an abandoned village following the spread of the curse. Here lives Shiva, a healthy child, together with the "Master", a cursed man who takes care of her. While they can't even touch each other, the two seem to have created a relationship that goes beyond appearances and differences in favor of affection, trust and kindness.
