Stray, here are the cats that inspired the game
Stray
July promises to be a month full of exciting releases. One of the most interesting titles of the summer is undoubtedly Stray, exclusive to PC and PlayStation. Developed by BlueTwelve Studio and published by Annapurna Interactive, the title puts us in the shoes of a wild cat. We will be able to explore the neon-lit alleys of a cyberpunk city, fending off robotic enemies known as Zurk.The title will also be released within the renewed PlayStation Plus services. Stray will be available to Extra and Premium tier subscribers and will require no additional fees to play it. With the release now very close, the developers have decided to show who the stray of the title is inspired by, as well as some kittens that the team used to model their appearance, animations and more. These photos of Stray's inspirations have been shared on the PlayStation blog.| ); }
Miko and Remi's team was responsible for programming the movements of stray base, as well as iterating and refining the animations so that Stray's gameplay was fun and responsive. The blog post also features some gifs of the stray performing typically feline actions, such as scratching the wall, dropping a can off the side of a perch, or taking a nap.
PS5, PS4's Stray Is Helping to Save Cats' Lives
Good game, better cause
Stray is a promising PS5 and PS4 indie adventure that will be one of All PS Plus Games when it launches next week. But in order to promote the game, publisher Annapurna Interactive is also partnering with a number of charities to help raise money for homeless cats. In the case of the Nebraska Humane Society, donating just $5 will enter you into a sweepstakes to win a code, with the proceeds invested into medical care, feeding, and rehoming stray animals.
And similarly with the UK’s Cats Protection, it’s got codes to giveaway if you sign up to become a Pawsome Player, which essentially amounts to hosting livestreams in order to drive awareness and funding for cat care. All in all, we think this is a great gesture: not only is it thematic marketing for the game, but there are many real-life stray cats out there that need help, so raising money for that is never a bad thing.
