What makes a citizen of an individual? In an era upset by migration and demographic crises, the issue is destined to become even more heated than it has already been in recent decades, even in Italy. An answer that looks to the future, however, could come from educational institutions: it is called ius scholae, or the right of Italian citizenship guaranteed to those who have completed a cycle of studies in Italy. Barbara Floridia, Undersecretary of State for Education with responsibility for ecological and cultural transition spoke about this bill coming to parliament in June on the stage of sportsgaming.win Next Fest 2022.The project should be arrive in the classrooms precisely on June 24: “I believe it will be approved, and I sincerely hope so. If there is a way through which we all become citizens, it is school. It gives us the words and the awareness of being citizens, it is the perfect place ".
Among the works already in the pipeline of the Ministry of Education that look to the next years and decades, there is instead Regenerazione Scuola , for teaching a sustainable future.
“I think it is important to make this project known, because we finally allocate resources and make experts available who can support our teachers and can talk about sustainability in schools. Sustainability is not as an environmental education, but as a new housing model, a new thinking approach. After all, democracy also passes through the awareness of ecological rights and resources. Let's take plastic: a durable material, so far used for disposable, a use that is anything but lasting. Transforming an environmental sensitivity that young people already have, into a real competence ”, says Floridia.
In the meantime, however, the world of schools still needs extensive reform, precarious workers have increased: how can this trend be reversed and schools become a priority?
" First of all, the government needs to get people from school, women and men who have experienced it on their own skin. It was then necessary to start competing again. Increase the quality of teaching by decreasing the number of pupils per class, that is, creating classes and hiring teachers with ordinary and extraordinary competitions. It is also necessary to stop cutting teachers despite the drop in the birth rate. It is not easy, we are doing it thanks to the latest investments that now need to be maintained; having started a few years ago, the results will come ".
And if politics tends to ignore school and students, extending the right to vote to them could serve to put the spotlight on the education sector," provided but to improve the teaching of civic education at the same time ".
Here Are All the Music Events at the 2022 Tribeca Festival
This year marks the 21st year of the Tribeca Festival in New York City. Set to take place June 8-19, the 2022 event will introduce audiences to an integrated art festival experience that is inclusive of film, TV, immersive art, talks, narratives and live music. Spanning 10 categories, the festival showcases 111 feature films and 16 online premieres from 151 filmmakers across 40 countries.
In addition to the aforementioned live music, the festival will feature music-related events ranging from world premieres of much-anticipated films to performances by New York underground artists. Among them are screenings of the Jennifer Lopez documentary HALFTIME, Machine Gun Kelly’s semi-biopic Taurus, and Taylor Swift’s All Too Well: The Short Film as well as her accompanying discussion, and performances from Lil Baby, Of Monsters and Men and emerging artists Show Me the Body, YL, Onyx Collective and Duendita.
