Steven Moffat on a possible fifth season of Sherlock
Are we going to have a fifth season of Sherlock?
The Sherlock series had a lot of scheduling problems as the showrunners tried to bring out the fourth season. Despite its popularity, fans had to wait three years to be able to watch the new episodes even though they were able to enjoy the 2016 Christmas special, The Abominable Bride, first. But it wasn't the BBC's choice to delay the series. The problem stemmed from the fact that Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman were increasingly busy as they had begun to actively work on other projects. Sherlock's fourth season finale, which aired in January 2017, provided what appeared to be a fairly satisfying ending for the series. Yet after five years, Steven Moffat and co-creator Mark Gatiss are re-evaluating the idea of bringing Sherlock season five to life!| ); }
“Having said that, my agenda is pretty full at the moment, as is that of Martin Freeman and those who are key to the series. Maybe someday, if the script is the right one. And when I talk about a screenplay, I mean that it could be a film instead of a series. We'll see, but it won't happen now. "
For now there is nothing official, but who knows if sooner or later we will really see Sherlock's fifth season!
