WWE Road To WrestleMania
The WrestleMania 38 Card
WrestleMania 38 weekend is now less than four
weeks away.
For the third straight year, WrestleMania will
be a two-night event. WWE is billing day one and day two as “WrestleMania
Saturday” and “WrestleMania Sunday”, respectively.
This year’s event will take place at AT&T
Stadium — home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys — in Arlington, Texas on the Apr.
2-3 weekend.
There are currently ten matches on the card
for WrestleMania. Furthermore, we know that Hall of Famer ‘Stone Cold’ Steve
Austin will be a special guest on “The KO Show”, hosted by Kevin Owens.
The four confirmed matches for WrestleMania
Saturday are Becky Lynch vs. Bianca Belair for the Raw Women’s Championship,
Charlotte Flair vs. Ronda Rousey for the SmackDown Women’s Championship, Drew
McIntyre vs. Happy Corbin and Rey and Dominik Mysterio vs. The Miz and Logan
Paul.
Both Flair (+350) and Lynch (+225) are betting
underdogs to lose their respective matches and titles. Rousey is a giant -600
favorite to win the SmackDown Women’s title, and Belair is a -350 favorite to
dethrone Lynch. Some of the top sports betting apps are offering new customers risk-free
bets that are worth up to $1,000.
WrestleMania Sunday will be headlined by WWE
Champion Brock Lesnar and Universal Champion Roman Reigns in a “Winner Takes
All” Match. WWE will unify the two championships, with the winner becoming the
new unified champion.
The second night of WrestleMania will also
feature Johnny Knoxville vs. Sami Zayn, AJ Styles vs. Hall of Famer Edge,
Austin Theory vs. Pat McAfee and Naomi and Sasha Banks vs. Carmella and Queen
Zelina and Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley for the Women’s Tag Team Championships.
RK-Bro became the new Raw Tag Team Champions
on this week’s episode of Monday Night
Raw. They will defend the titles (opponent to be announced) at
WrestleMania. WWE hasn’t announced which day the match will take place.

Rumors & Notes
It was previously reported that WWE was trying
to get the aforementioned Steve Austin to return for a match at WrestleMania,
which will run in his home state of Texas.
Bringing in Austin will go a long way in
helping sell more tickets for the massive two-night event.
But Austin’s appearance on The KO Show
essentially confirms that the WWE legend will not actually return to the ring.
We can expect a physical confrontation of some sort, and it’ll likely culminate
with Austin performing his signature ‘Stone Cold Stunner’ finishing maneuver.
Austin wrestled his last match at WrestleMania
XIX against The Rock, which the latter won. Injuries subsequently prompted
Austin to announce his retirement at the age of 38, but the Hall of Famer
continues to make sporadic appearances. He was involved at WrestleMania XXX and
WrestleMania 32.
Regarding the Austin Theory-Pat McAfee bout,
Dave Meltzer stated on Wrestling Observer Radio (h/t WrestlingNews.co) that WWE chairman Vince
McMahon will play a central role in the match.
“Vince McMahon is still in the angle,” Meltzer
explained. “I don’t know if it’s going to be a handicap match. I don’t know if
it’s going to be Vince McMahon in the corner of Austin Theory, but getting
heavily involved in the angle and everything like that. Right now, Vince
McMahon is the key to that match. That is the drawing of that match, is Vince.
“
Theory and McMahon have been working together
aplenty on Monday Night Raw over the
past few months. Theory, McMahon’s latest project, has enjoyed a notable push
in 2022.
He even got a WWE Championship match against
Lesnar at Saturday’s MSG show, which the latter won. Now, Theory will go up
against the former NFL punter and beloved sports media personality. And if
recent reports are accurate, McMahon will somehow get involved.
There was also speculation that former AEW
wrestler and Executive Vice President Cody Rhodes would eventually land in
WWE. Last week, Ringside News reported that The American
Nightmare was “scheduled for WrestleMania.”
On Sunday, however, Ringside News heard from a source that Cody is
no longer listed on the “internal documents” for WrestleMania.
Cody’s potential return to the WWE is a giant
question mark at this time. Cody and his wife, Brandi Rhodes, left AEW last
month following the expiration of their respective contracts.
