Rebel Wolves is a new studio from The Witcher 3 Game Director
If you're wondering where The Witcher 4 is, it might be coming sooner than you expect, although probably not as you expected it to. Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, Game Director of The Witcher 3 and Head of Production/Secondary Game Director on Cyberpunk 2077, has launched a game studio called Rebel Wolves. They're making a dark fantasy RPG on Unreal Engine 5, and while it won't be The Witcher 4, it might be the closest thing we ever get to it.
The studio was born out of Tomaszkiewicz's desire to create a studio with the 'united goal of doing things differently while also putting the team first at all times.' Considering how badly developers were treated over at CD Projekt Red, it's not surprising that Tomaszkiewicz created Rebel Wolves and wants to do better.
'For all of us here at Rebel Wolves, video games were always something we felt destined to do-something ingrained in our DNA. Personally, I couldn't be happier to have banded together with friends who share this passion. We're developing a video game we'd like to play in a way that games should be made. We want to evolve the CRPG genre by creating by creating unforgettable stories and stirring deep emotions, all while working as a tightly knit team united by a shared goal and ambition. Collectively, we envision Rebel Wolves as a place where experienced game developers can reignite their passion, where they can focus on their craft and pour their love into an amazing, ambitious title. We want to stay small and agile-a place where people know and care for each other.' - Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, Rebel Wolves CEO and Game Director.
Rebel Wolves has developers that worked on games such as The Witcher series, Cyberpunk 2077, Thronebreaker, and Shadow Warrior 2. They're also currently hiring for various roles, so if you're interested you can reach out to them here and see if you have what it takes to join the wolfpack.
