ASUS Zephyrus G14 with Ryzen 9 6900HS and RX 6800S tested in some benchmarks

The AMD Ryzen 6000 Series Mobile Processors (codenamed “Rembrandt“) were officially unveiled by AMD at an event held at CES 2022. In addition to being equipped with CPU cores based on a refined version of the "Zen 3" architecture, called "Zen 3+", and built on TSMC's 6nm process node, the chips also feature an integrated RDNA2 GPU, outlining a huge step forward compared to the Vega present on the current generation Ryzen 5000 (“Cezanne”) models. In addition, the APUs also support DDR5 memory, another further advantage over today's DDR4 / LPDDR4X.

It is definitely a high-end combination, so much so that, as reported by our colleagues at VideoCardz, in PudgetBench it surpassed the Intel Core i9 12900H + GeForce RTX 3080 combo.

Moving on to Geekbench, instead, we can see as this new model of the Zephyrus G14 is 5 to 20% faster than its predecessor with Ryzen 9 5900 HS. Recall that the AMD Ryzen 9 6900HS is a 35W TDP APU with eight cores and sixteen threads, with a base frequency of 3.3GHz and capable of reaching 4.9GHz in Boost. AMD Radeon RX 6800S is instead a dedicated GPU with 32 Computer Units (and 2,048 Stream Processors) with a Game Frequency of 1,975MHz, accompanied by 8GB of GDDR6 at 16Gb / s on a 128-bit bus for a maximum bandwidth of 256GB / s.
