Jim Ryan says 17 Sony studios are hard at work on PS5 and PS4 games
In these hours, thanks to CES 2022, we have been able to obtain a series of new official information from the videogame sector. Among the participants of the technological event there was also Sony who, in addition to revealing many of the features of their new PlayStation VR 2 for PS5, allowed us to discover some of the things that are currently boiling in the pot of the Japanese company and the background on the its first party development teams.
Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO and president Jim Ryan intervened right on the stage of CES 2022, who revealed during the presentation that Sony currently has 17 first party studios committed to work on proprietary software coming out on PS5 and PS4 consoles. At the moment the CEO of SIE didn't want to go into too much detail, but we know that in addition to the already known Horizon Forbidden West, Gran Turismo 7 and God of War Ragnarok there is much more in the pipeline at PlayStation Studios.
The PlayStation Studios brand now has a number of major development teams under its wings, including studios from all over the world such as: Naughty Dog, Insomniac Games, Santa Monica Studio, Sucker Punch Productions and many more. It is understandable that Sony wants to produce many exclusive first parties not just for this year, but offer PS5 and PS4 users a fairly constant annual release rate.
