Gran Turismo 7: the press event has a new date near, postponement averted

Gran Turismo 7

Gran Turismo 7 would seem to save as regards the release date, with the postponement probably averted given that the postponed press event - which had raised doubts - now has a new date very close and in any case prior to the release date. >
The issue had emerged last Monday, when the journalist / insider Tom Henderson had pointed out that Sony had canceled a press event for the presentation of Gran Turismo 7, postponing it to a date to be specified, which had aroused some suspicion, being now close to the release date announced for the game.

An analogous previous case, however, had concerned The Last of Us 2 and had preceded the postponement of the game, so fears had arisen in this case too, but evidently everything is back, given that the press event now has a new date and is in any case prior to the scheduled release.

The event in question, which is not public but dedicated exclusively to the press, is either set for March 3, 2022, Tom Henderson reported. The shift occurred due to Kazunori Yamauchi's inability to be present on the previously set date.

The release date therefore remains set for March 4 and now it seems decidedly more solid, pending any developments. It should be noted, however, that the event in question should not coincide with the release of new information and materials on Gran Turismo 7, which should happen later.

Gran Turismo 7 Event Delayed Until February 3

Yamauchi scared us for a minute.

Gran Turismo 7

The legions of fans amping up for the release of Gran Turismo 7 have been stressed for the past few days. Sony’s Gran Turismo 7 event, originally scheduled for January 25, was postponed at the last minute with no reason given and no rescheduled date announced. After a few days of speculation and game delay fears, industry insider Tom Henderson has posted a Tweet claiming that the event will now take place on February 3. The reason for the short-notice delay is said to be due to Kazunori Yamauchi, the creator of the Gran Turismo series, wanting to be present at the event for the purpose of doing a Q&A, but not being able to attend on January 25 for some reason.

This event is now taking place on February 3rd.

Apparently, the reason for the short-notice delay was that Yamauchi wanted to be at the event to answer questions, but couldn't be there for whatever reason.

March 4th release seems to be happening! 🙂 https://t.co/To40aFLrd8

After the event’s unexpected delay, Henderson noted that Sony made a similar move prior to the release of The Last of Us Part 2. Thankfully, tragedy has been averted, and Gran Turismo 7 still seems to be on track for a March 4 release.

The eighth mainline game in the series, Gran Turismo 7 was first announced on June 11, 2020. It will be the first multi-console installment in the Gran Turismo franchise and will include over 400 vehicles, immersive haptic feedback, high-precision and extremely realistic tracks, and modifications for the in-game rides. Earlier this month, Sony confirmed that the beloved Daytona International Speedway would be returning to the franchise.

Gran Turismo 7 will be released on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on March 4, 2022. The game will offer cross-generation multiplayer support, and those purchasing the 25th Anniversary Deluxe or Digital Deluxe Edition will receive a number of exclusive bonuses. These include in-game credits, specific cars, a collection of Avatars, and the game’s soundtrack. Earlier this week, it was announced that the game would require 110 GB of storage space on the PlayStation 5. The PS5 version will take advantage of the console’s procession power, ray-tracing hardware, custom solid-state drive storage, and Tempest Engine.
