Fiat Tipo: an electrified SUV future for the C segment

The current Fiat Tipo has been on the market since 2015 and, with last year's restyling, also recorded the debut of the Cross variant. In addition, the Tipo range will soon be able to count on an unprecedented Station Wagon Cross variant. The Fiat C-segment family, produced in Turkey where it is marketed under the name Egea, has entered the final part of its career.For the moment, Fiat has not clarified what the future evolution will be of its range and, therefore, has not yet confirmed the creation of a new generation of the Fiat Tipo. The future of Fiat will be revealed at the beginning of next year when Stellantis, the group born from the merger between FCA and PSA, will formalize its first industrial plan.
In the next few years, after the end of production of the current Tipo , Fiat will remain in the C segment of the European market. However, the Italian brand could propose different solutions than the present. The “New Type” could, in fact, be a C-segment SUV to which Fiat could support a sedan version and, perhaps, a station wagon. All models should continue to offer good value for money.
