The Increasing Dominance of Live Gaming
There aren’t many industries that have evolved like gaming in the last several decades. You can look at the state of play now to what it was just five or six years ago and be stunned by just how far gaming has come. Of course, a lot of progress has been made thanks to the advancements in technology, and while gaming has been popular in multiple guises, it’s live gaming that is now reigning supreme.
Where gaming is concerned, life very much began
in the arcades and with a single-player style. Classics from the arcade made it
to the early games consoles, and it was a case of making your way through a
title at your own pace. And there was nothing wrong with that, as shown by this
being the way for a long while.
But thanks to the advancements made where
technology is concerned, primarily with games consoles, multiplayer titles
started to become a thing. EA Sports’ FIFA
series, for
example, was a prime example of this. Gamers used to huddle around their
PlayStations, playing winners stay on, as they did battle on the football
pitch. It represented a significant shift in gaming.
Then when you consider the internet entered the
fray, pushed the multiplayer format further, and changed gaming forever, you
get an idea of how we got to where we are now. We’ve gone from
arcade halls and single-player classics to multiplayer games such as Mario Kart
and Street Fighter to titles of today like Fortnite and Among Us.
But, as always, gaming doesn't stand still. And
a lot of this is because neither does technology. There are better games
consoles, mobile devices, which are the go-to for many where gaming is
concerned, has dramatically improved, and internet speeds are faster than
reliable with connections the most reliable they have ever been.
What we’re now seeing is a
phenomenon known as live gaming coming into the picture. It’s not to say that there is anything wrong with
gaming as we currently know it. Instead, developers and the like just try and
improve on what is already there and try and add something different to keep
people interested.
You could class live gaming as single player
with an interactive twist and a multiplayer format, making it unique. Evolution Gaming’s
Monopoly game is
a prime example of live gaming at its best. Evolution Gaming is undoubtedly the
best in the business at creating live content, and with Monopoly being a game
everyone knows and loves, Monopoly Live is the perfect title.
In Monopoly Live, players can log on from
various devices and play along with a live presenter in an interactive setting.
And, this fits with live gaming in general. It's accessible to a range of
people because of its availability on tons of devices, including smartphones.
Thanks to technology, the content is high quality and reliable, fast internet
connections mean the service and experience are fantastic. As a result, live
gaming's dominance is increasing, and it's easy to see why.
