Pluto TV launches soap channel that airs The Young and the Restless, The Bold and the Beautiful, and more
Pluto TV has just unveiled a brand-new channel called Pluto TV Soaps, and soap opera fans haven't been this excited since the launch of SOAPnet back in 2000!
The free channel is completely dedicated to soaps, and it's already airing reruns of The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful. But that's not all: a spokesperson for the ViacomCBS owned and operated streaming service reveals that more soap operas will be 'launching soon.'
Y&R star Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea Lawson; ex-Annie Novak, All My Children) took to Twitter to express her excitement about Pluto's new soap channel, which she enthuses is a great place to 'watch all the dramaaaa.'
Unfortunately, Pluto TV Soaps isn't airing classic episodes of the soaps (yet), but rather episodes that first aired in September 2018 and later.
The Y&R episodes kick off with the CBS soap's 47th and 48th seasons. As fans may recall, this encompasses the latter portion of executive producer Mal Young's tenure with the show and the early portion of Anthony Morina and Josh Griffith's run as co-EPs. Stars include Gina Tognoni as Phyllis Summers, Marla Adams as Dina Abbott, and Daniel Goddard as Cane Ashby.
Pluto TV Soaps' B&B episodes kick off with the CBS series' 32nd season, with current Y&R star Courtney Hope in the role of Sally Spectra and current General Hospital star Ingo Rademacher (Jasper Jacks) in the role of Thorne Forrester.
Viewers will also be able to watch newer episodes of both B&B and Y&R as part of Pluto's OnDemand service.
To get your melodramatic fix -- anytime, anywhere, and for free! -- visit the Pluto TV Soaps website or download the Pluto TV app on Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, Playstation, Tivo, Xfinity, Roku, and other Smart TV-enabled devices, including Samsung and Vizio.
And, as always, soap fans will continue to have access to nearly three decades of daily recaps right here on Soap Central. Those archived daily recaps include the four current soaps -- B&B, Y&R, Days of our Lives, and General Hospital -- as well as classic soaps like All My Children, As the World Turns, Guiding Light, and One Life to Live.
