Fortnite, Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine arrive
Fortnite
While waiting to find out if Naruto will also give himself to Battle Royale matches, Fortnite continues to add characters borrowed from movies and video games. And so, after the officialization of the Dune skins, today it's up to Resident Evil: the popular Capcom franchise thus lands in the home game Epic Games, which introduces Chris Redfield skins starting today (with Hound Wolf team variant ) And Jill Valentine, as well as other items directly linked to the Japanese video game series. As per tradition, the new Fortnite skins are available in the in-game store and can be purchased as part of a decidedly bundle richer, which includes a series of Resident Evil themed objects. In addition to the skins of the two iconic protagonists of the series, in fact, the package proposed by Capcom and Epic Games also includes the Green Grass decorative back (with Red Grass and Blue Grass as alternative styles), the Giusti Keys decorative back, the HOT DOGGER pickaxe ( knife developed by Umbrella for use against biological weapons) and the Stun Rod pickaxe. Bonus: an illustration created by Rodrigo Lorenzo for the loading screen.
Skins and items aside, the arrival of Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine also introduces the Brolly Stroll emote, of which you can see a 'preview thanks to the video released by the publisher and developer of Fortnite. Which (we admit) produces a decidedly strange effect, but in the end this too is the beauty of certain cross-overs in the world of video games.
All the new Resident Evil themed items can be purchased in the Fortnite in-game store. The STARS Squad Bundle includes the Chris Redfield costume, Jill Valentine costume, Green Grass Back (alternate styles included) and Right Keys Back, while HOT DOGGER Pickaxe, Stun Rod Pickaxe and Brolly Stroll Emote are available in the STARS Team Gear Bundle
Fancy Resident Evil? The eighth chapter is available on offer on Amazon.
‘Fortnite’ Releases Awesome ‘Resident Evil’ Jill Valentine And Chris Redfield Skins
Fortnite
EpicWe can debate whether or not the coming metaverse is going to end society as we know it, but at least now we can dress up as cool Resident Evil characters as it happens.
Fortnite has just released a pair of skins bolstering its collection of Capcom crossovers. Resident Evil’s Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield join Street Fighter’s Ryu, Chun-Li, Cammy and Guile as new playable skins, and each has two versions.
Jill Valentine has her looks from Resident Evil 1 and Resident Evil 3. Chris Redfield has his from Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 8. All the variants look great, and are going to be hard to resist for fans.
Fortnite
EpicWhat’s perhaps the most surprising about this collaboration is that it didn’t leak beforehand. Not through the usual datamining sources, and I didn’t even hear through my backchannels that it was coming, which is pretty unusual. It seems to be something that caught everyone, even leakers, off guard, and I kind of wonder how Fortnite pulled that off. They didn’t tease it in-game either, and the STARS store data only showed up a few hours before the skins were released.
Fortnite also released a trailer to celebrate the arrival of the skins which you can see below:
Their appearance is in keeping with the Fortnitemares event going on now to celebrate Halloween, where players are on the map killing cube monsters. Along with that zombie theme, we had The Walking Dead’s Rick Grimes show up not all that long ago.
Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield are now the two latest additions to my list of Fortnite licensed IP characters that have arrived in the game, as Fortnite boasts the largest collection of IPs really..anywhere. The other video game characters we’ve gotten over the past few years is:
It’s a shorter list than say, the Marvel or DC superheroes they’ve collected, but it’s getting longer. Clearly Capcom is on board with frequent collaborations, as they now make up half the list themselves. So it’s easy to imagine we could be getting say, Devil May Cry or Monster Hunter Fortnite skins in the future, which would no doubt be big-sellers. Or more Resident Evil characters, as there are plenty more cast members that could appear. Personally, I’m rooting for Nemesis and Lady Dimitrescu. Big hitboxes, though.
