The games from From Software, the studio behind the infamous Dark Souls franchise, are no picnic. The brutal samurai adventure Sekiro is no exception. Of course, playing through the title is not impossible. And with a lot of perseverance, dedication and quick reactions, the game can even be speedrun.

If that's still too easy for you, you have to make the game more difficult in an artificial way. Like the speedrunner "Mitchriz", for example, who completely blindfolded Sekiro - and that in less than 5 hours.

It's not the first time that speedrunner Mitchriz Sekiro has defeated Sekiro in record time, albeit for the first time in such a spectacular way. He had already set a record in which he mastered the game in under 20 minutes, even if speedrunner "LilAggy" was exactly as fast to the second.

But that no longer seemed enough for Mitchriz, he needed a bigger challenge. How else should you name your insane approach of playing From Software's parrying board with a blind person, i.e. completely blind? All that was left to him was his hearing, his memory of the environment and opponents, as well as a lot of practice. As in his 20-minute run, Mitchriz chose the so-called "Shura" end, one of four different endings in Sekiro. It's not just faster because the story ends early.

The variant of the final boss that lurks there is also a bit lighter than the one that awaits you at one of the other endings. Its performance is therefore by no means less impressive. Most of us can only dream of surviving brutal bosses like the guard monkey or Isshin blindly. He recapitulated his run on Twitch and was already working on ways to optimize his performance even further in the future.

YouTuber and streamer "ATwerkingYoshi" mastered the game with the bongo drums from Donkey Kong, for example, while the streamer "Cae5ium" defeated the dreaded Genichiro with a steering wheel.

But not only Sekiro is facing the crazy ideas of the players secure. Reddit user "The Super Scrubs" only defeated Dark Souls 3 with a handful of bananas and YouTuber, streamer and caster Maxim Markow threw himself in rounds of the Mobas League of Legends, equipped with delicious ice cream or a load of milkshakes. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice speedrunner finishes game blindfolded

Twitch streamer Mitchriz finished Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice in four and a half minutes while blindfolded.

The Twitch streamer spent months practicing his speedrun attempt, with the latest attempt finally getting him through the game in less time it’ll take to finish the entire Lord of the Rings Trilogy. He did so while blindfolded, although he did take the shortest route to accomplish the feat. Mitchriz claims that it only took him two attempts to complete the endeavor. His exact time is 4:35:13. You can watch his attempt in the video below:

Without a blindfold, Mitchriz can finish Sekiro within the time frame it takes before you finish a game of League of Legends, at only about twenty minutes. He did this by exploiting the game with the airswim exploit, which allowed him to bypass a lot of the game’s sections and go straight to the ending.

Speedrunners are amazing, as they take up the challenge of finishing games the fastest way possible using exploits for most of the time. It takes a lot of brain power to execute this, as you also have to understand how games work at a fundamental level to even conceptualize the glitches you need to execute to get past a lot of content. Because of this, speedrunners usually have a lot of fans. Thankfully, speedrunners usually have kind hearts, and often organize speed-running events for charity.
