In The Witcher Season 1 finale, Geralt finally met Ciri, while Yennefer mysteriously disappeared during a battle against the Nilfgaard Empire. Yennefer's location is still unknown, however, Geralt and Ciri will travel to Kaer Morhen, the witcher stronghold where Geralt grew up and was trained to become a monster hunter. The Witcher 2 should also showcase Ciri's power in more detail. During WitcherCon hosted by Netflix and CD Projekt Red to anticipate both the upcoming release of the second TV show and the future of the game series, The Witcher 2 trailer has been unveiled, showing Geralt and Ciri traveling together and offering a taste of what happened to Yennefer. Find the video, completely in Italian, below:The trailer for The Witcher 2 also anticipates their arrival in Kaer Morhen, Geralt's reunion with the other witchers and their reactions to Ciri's presence. Also, even though his face is not shown, Geralt's mentor Vesemir appears to appear in the trailer as he watches Geralt train, and then he also appears to be fighting alongside him. Vesemir will also star in the prequel animated film The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf.
Geralt's two swords are also shown, very similar to the ones he wields in the video game series:
In addition to Geralt and Ciri, the footage also briefly shows what happened to Yennefer after her disappearance during the Battle of Sodden Hill, revealing that she was with Fringilla, the Nilfgaardian sorceress. Although not explicitly shown in The Witcher 2 season trailer, it is likely that Yen is a prisoner of Fringilla, as they belong to opposing factions in the war.
Yennefer's fate answers and the future of Geralt and Ciri will no doubt be revealed at the release of The Witcher 2, which will be available for exclusive viewing on Netflix starting December 17th.
