In addition to the panels, WitcherCon has included special content, musical interludes, a series of exclusive surprises and never-before-seen insights relating to the live action series of The Witcher 2 and the upcoming anime film, Nightmare of the Wolf, of which you will find all the details in this article. Here are some statements from the talent who attended the WitcherCon. Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, showrunner of the series, talked about the relationship between Geralt and Ciri:
“The first season ends with what I think is one of the most exciting scenes we shot, which is the one in which Geralt and Ciri find themselves after searching for each other throughout the season. It seems to see the figure of a father and that of a daughter, as if everything were perfect, too bad they have never met before. It was really fun to start season two thinking they weren't a family yet and wondering what they could do to become one. On the one hand we have Geralt, who has sworn that he doesn't need anyone in the world and then he is presented with a girl, now solely entrusted to him. On the other hand, we have Ciri, who is used to having people looking after her, but runs away from everyone for a whole season and then she is told that Geralt will take care of her. It was really interesting to start season two with two characters unsure how to stay and grow together. We wanted to make sure it felt like an authentic relationship, that they weren't linked from the start ".
Always Lauren Schmidt Hissrich on the new characters of the second season:
" There are many new characters that we will introduce in the second season. We will see Dijkstra for the first time and a kind of Kingdom of Redania. I know many fans are excited to meet Philippa for the first time, Codringher and Fenn, Rience, Nenneke. There are so many new characters, but I have to say that Vesemir is the one I can't wait for our audience to meet. Vesemir is an integral part of the story we are telling this season. Obviously we are returning to Kaer Morhen for the first time and, in a season in which Geralt becomes Ciri's father, it seemed very important to us to show who his father figure was. We therefore find ourselves with a multigenerational story, as Vesemir and Ciri also have a story, and this leads us to think that all these characters are made to interact and learn from each other and fight with each other " .
Freya Allan on Ciri's fight sequences this season:
“Training for combat is one of the things I was most excited about for this second season. I love the stunt department. We've got the best in there, they're so fun and bring out the best in you. Ciri starts training and training becomes one of her main sources of motivation. She is very determined and really wants to become a great warrior and a Witcher ".
Anya Chalotra on her character's favorite traits Yennefer:
" I must say she finds always a way to do what she wants. She is a survivor, this is my favorite aspect of her, although there are many others that I love. We have become quite similar and we have learned from each other ".
Henry Cavill on the path of his character Geralt of Rivia:
" I played the first season in a free way, we saw Geralt in the wilderness and without necessarily having to undertake great dialogues. I thought it was better to play the part of the man who speaks little and that he seems to be thinking a lot. This was the intention, but then, once I got in touch with Ciri and the Witchers, I thought I should have him talk more, let him be verbose, philosophical and intellectual as he really is. He is not just a big old brute with white hair. ”
