Rare recently released a new expansion for the pirate MMO Sea of Thieves with "A Pirate's Life". This not only caused a huge influx of players, but also holds many surprises in store. This includes, for example, an Easter egg, which is intended as a direct reference to the adventure series Secret of Monkey Island. However, we have to issue a small spoiler warning at this point: If you don't want to be stunned by the surprise, you shouldn't read any more at this point.As part of "A Pirate's Life" you have to go to Take a closer look at a mysterious shipwreck, among other things, which at first glance is nothing special. As soon as you get closer to the wreck, however, a melody sounds in the background that fans of Secret of Monkey Island will surely immediately recognize. But that's not the only allusion: if you look around the deck, you will discover a diary next to a skeleton. This is from a certain Kate Capsize. At least now, the connection to Secret of Monkey Island can no longer be denied, because this woman had an appearance in Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge, who did a little advertising for her small company on Booty Island. When leafing through the log you will also find passages in which Guybrush Threepwood is even mentioned - the hero of the Monkey Island adventure.
