Nothing ear (1) official, TWS earphones with a design that hides nothing!
Nothing ear (1) official
After a large number of teasers and small previews published by the company itself over the last few weeks, it is finally the moment we have all been waiting for. The Nothing ears (1) are finally official and we can reveal to you everything that makes these new TWS earphones really interesting, offered for less than 100 euros!Over the past few weeks we have often talked to you about Nothing, the new company founded by Carl Pei and backed by investors such as Tony Fadell (iPod inventor), Casey Neistat (YouTuber) and Kevin Lin ( co-founder of Twitch), Steve Huffman (co-founder and CEO of Reddit) and GV (formerly of Google Ventures).
The day of the presentation of the first product of Nothing is finally here and these are the brand new ears (1), true wireless earphones with a truly unique and unmistakable design.
The charging case of Nothing ear (1) is largely transparent, just like some sections of the earphones themselves. This allowed the company to offer a truly one-of-a-kind product on the market but it entailed considerable challenges.
For example, it was necessary to include all the hardware of the charging case, including the battery, in the small non-translucent space. We were told that even the choice of the glue to close the earphones during the assembly phase was difficult because the transparent design does not admit halos of any kind.
The carrying and charging case has been studied in the the smallest details. The company told us that it has inserted a small recess on the lid that allows users to use it with a kind of fidget spinner, this satisfies that kind of subconscious need of many users who start playing and also handle the cases of other models. of headset almost without realizing it.
Inside, the individual headphones are positioned obliquely and slightly protruding from the surface on which they rest, this facilitates grip when you want to wear Nothing ears (1). The two earphones are distinguished by a red and a white dot that represent the left and right audio channel, exactly like coaxial audio cables much more popular in the past. These two colored dots are also reflected in the slots where the earphones are stored for charging, in order to make the experience even more intuitive.
The case has a USB Type-C port but also supports the Qi standard for wireless charging. The battery has a capacity of 570mAh while the ears (1) have a 31mAh cell each. The company promises battery life of up to 5.7 hours (37 hours in all with the case) with ANC off and up to 4 hours (which adds up to 24 hours when calculating the case) with ANC on.
Yes, because the Nothing ears (1) also have a noise cancellation system down to -40dB, aided by the acoustic isolation of the in-ear design. They connect to the audio source via Bluetooth 5.2 and use SBC and AAC codecs for sound transmission. The headphones also have a proximity sensor to automatically pause multimedia content when removed and resume listening when worn again.
An application is available for Android (5.1 or higher) and iOS (11 or higher) that will allow you to manage the headphones, update the firmware, adjust the equalizer and customize the touch gestures. The app also allows earphones to be located thanks to the Find my earbud function. If connected and used with an Android smartphone, pairing will be quick and easy thanks to the support for Fast Pair.
Not only noise cancellation, the Nothing ears (1) have a transparency mode that amplifies external noise and of an algorithm for the reduction of background noise (including wind up to 40km / h) to isolate your voice during calls.
As anticipated by the brand in recent weeks, Nothing ear (1) will be available for purchase at the price of 99 euros starting from 31 July in limited exclusive on the official website nothing.tech. Sales will officially begin on August 17th at nothing.tech and other select retailers.
Stay tuned as we will soon be able to talk to you much more in-depth in a full review!
