Attending online at San Diego Comic-Con, Masako Nozawa (historical voice of Goku), Akio Iyoku (executive producer of the Dragon Ball team for Shueisha) and Norihiro Hayashida (producer at Toei Animation) talked about the new film highlighting their excitement and offering, here and there, timid details on the composition of the project.The statements were disseminated through the new official Dragon Ball website. Masako Nozawa (voice of Goku):
"I'm sure you are all shivering with joy for the new Dragon Ball movie because it will exceed your expectations! The 'Super Hero' title is really effective, it gets straight to the point, and it's very nice! The new characters made directly by Akira Toriyama are really different, they have never been seen like this before. They have a great sense of style! Elegant and with boots, they are truly a new added value to the world of Dragon Ball and I can't wait to find out what I'm capable of! What do wea> know about the new Dragon Ball Super movie?
This is the 21st animated film considering the entirety of the franchise and the 2nd to merge into the Dragon Ball Super era, which sees Akira Toriyama same original story, dialogue and character design alongside Toei Animation. The film will be released in Japanese cinemas in 2022, while a western date is not yet known.From the first teaser video of the project, which we can review immediately below, it seems that the project will boast CGI components, deviating in large part from previous film experiences. Even Toriyama-sensei himself in the announcement comment had anticipated that the new animated film would have explored never before seen territories in terms of artistic aesthetics.
The plans related to the new Dragon Ball Super film were started in the 2018, even before the release of Dragon Ball Super: Broly (released in 2018 in Japan; in 2019 in Italy), and will aim to tell a story full of spectacular fights able to respond to the enthusiasm generated by the success of the previous.

Dragon Ball Super - manga and anime
Dragon Ball Super is a Japanese animated series, produced by Toei Animation, broadcast in Japan on Fuji Television which is a follow-up to defeat of Majin Buu. The series ended with episode number 131 (A miraculous conclusion! Goodbye Goku, until the day we meet again!).The Italian edition of the anime, acquired by Mediaset and broadcast on Italia 1, began on December 23, 2016 and was completed with the last episode aired on September 29, 2019.
The direct sequel to the anime series is the 20th animated film of the franchise, Dragon Ball Super: Broly released on February 28, 2019 with Koch Media Italia and Anime Factory.
A new animated film will hit Japanese theaters in 2022, Dragon Ball Super - Super Hero. This is the 21st film for the entire series and the 2nd dedicated to Dragon Ball Super. Akira Toriyama is actively working on the characters and dialogues.
The manga version is produced on a monthly basis, conceived and written by Akira Toriyama and drawn by Toyotaro. The manga is serialized on V-Jump (Shueisha) from 20 June 2015 and is currently in chapter 74, with the first 68 writings collected in 15 volumes. The manga is currently facing the unpublished narrative arc of "Granola, the Survivor".
