Graphics cards: prices are falling
We already mentioned in one of our last specials that graphics card prices seem to have been falling gradually since the beginning of June. We can currently continue to confirm this trend. Nevertheless, the prices are still significantly higher than in autumn 2020 for the graphics cards of the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1600 series, as well as significantly higher than at the release for the newer GeForce RTX 3000 series and AMD's RX Radeon 6000 series. We are currently moving around 40 to 90 percent surcharges (exception: the GeForce GTX 1650 Super with 117 percent plus), an average of 67 percent. At the end of May there were surcharges of 56 to even more than 200 percent, on average a whopping 137 percent. As you can see: At the moment, those who are looking for a more powerful graphics card are benefiting in particular, because they are the ones in particular Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 and 3080 as well as the AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT have fallen sharply in price - measured in euros, these three model series cost over 500 to almost 900 euros, which can be saved compared to May. Our prices are based on the cheapest model variants of the graphics card series, which were actually available in an established online shop at the time of our price research. Converted into a graphic, the following price curves are shown for graphics cards from an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060, which have fallen by more than 20 percent in price (but are still at a high price level):
