Game of Thrones creator George R R Martin, Captain America: The Winter Soldier star Robert Redford and Prison Break writer Graham Roland have teamed up to produce a brand new book adaptation for AMC.
As reported by TheWrap, the trio are working on small-screen versions of the Dark Winds novels by Tony Hillerman, focusing on the Navajo Tribal Police officers Joe Leaphorn and Jim Chee.
The first season will be set in the 1970s and focus on a double murder that will force our protagonists to 'challenge their own spiritual beliefs and come to terms with the trauma of their pasts.'

Zahn McClarnon, who played Akecheta in the second season of Westworld, will play Leaphorn, while The Twilight Saga's Kiowa Gordon will play Chee.
The six-episode season is set to air next year, with the show having been granted permission to film on Navajo Nation land.
George R R Martin said in a statement that: 'Tony Hillerman was one of the greats, as every mystery reader knows. Down here in the Southwest, Joe Leaphorn and Jim Chee are as iconic as Sherlock Holmes, Hercule Poirot, Philip Marlowe, and Travis McGee.
