The new main trailer for Dune has finally arrived, the highly anticipated film directed by Denis Villeneuve based on the eponymous literary saga by Frank Herbert (which you can find on Amazon). The film, after various postponements, is expected in cinemas next September 16, while the actual release date should have been even December 18, 2020.The new trailer shows some sequences from the previous teasers and numerous unpublished scenes. Of course, Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) and most of the main characters stand out, including his mother Lady Jessica (Rebecca Ferguson), her father Duca Leto (Oscar Isaac), Chani (Zendaya), and the loyal Gurney Halleck (Josh Brolin) and Duncan Idaho (Jason Momoa). The trailer lasting just over 3 minutes showcases some peculiarities of the highly anticipated sci-fi film whose total duration will be 2 hours and 35 minutes.

We remind you that in addition to the aforementioned actors, the cast also includes Dave Bautista (Glossu Rabban), Stellan Skarsgård (Barone Harkonnen), Charlotte Rampling (Reverend Mother Mohiam), Javier Bardem (Stilgar), David Dastmalchian (Piter De Vries) and Chang Chen (Dr. Wellington Yueh). Thomas Tull, Mary Parent and Cale Boyter will produce Dune, while Brian Herbert, Byron Merritt and Kim Herbert will serve as executive producers. Kevin J. Anderson will instead be the creative consultant.
The story is set in the distant future. This is entirely controlled by an interstellar empire, in which there is a sort of feudalism and each fiefdom is ruled by a noble house. The protagonist of the story is the young Paul (Thimothée Chalamet), scion of the Atreides family, who moves to the inhospitable planet Arrakis, known as Dune, together with his father, Duke Leto (Oscar Isaac), his mother Lady Jessica (Rebecca Ferguson) and some advisors.
Leto has taken over the planet in the hope of finding a safe place, suitable for his family and community. Dune, however, is under the crosshairs of all the forces of the universe, and decided to obtain its dominion for a rarity that grows only on its soil. It is a precious resource that allows those who possess it to unlock the greatest human potential: those who take this spice can travel in space, obtain superhuman abilities and can live longer. The extraction of this raw material, however, is not only hindered by the various enemies of Leto, but also by enormous creatures of the sand and by the Fremen, a native people of Dune, who inhabit the deepest deserts on the planet. As if that were not enough, a war for the control of the resource is upon us.

The upcoming trailer for director Denis Villeneuve's upcoming film adaptation of Frank Herbert's legendary sci-fi classic sets the stage cleanly. Chani (Zendaya), a member of the indigenous Fremen people who populate the desert planet of Arrakis, begins the trailer by telling us 'the outsiders ravage our lands in front of our eyes.' Despite its inhospitable climate, Arrakis (also called 'Dune' for its sandy landscapes) is the universe's only source of a special spice called melange, which can grant users psychedelic visions and makes interplanetary travel possible. The noble houses that rule the galaxy in the quasi-medieval political structure of Dune are all very eager to control the supply of melange, and they don't put a lot of effort into asking the Fremen what they think.
At the beginning of the film, Arrakis is the fiefdom of House Harkonnen, a brutal family led by their terrifying Baron (Stellan Skarsgard) and his cruel nephew Rabban (Dave Bautista). But as you can see in the trailer, as Dune proceeds the Emperor orders that Arrakis be given over to House Atreides, led by the noble Duke Leto (Oscar Isaac) and his promising son Paul (Timothée Chalamet). That's easier said than done, though. House Atreides can take Arrakis, but can they hold it? Why is Paul haunted by visions of Chani and a war-torn future?
