Battlefield 2042: New teaser video suggests the return of a map favorite

"Tune in and watch the unveiling of this love letter developed by DICE LA (now Ripple Effect Studios) to Battlefield fans and longtime gamers," wrote Electronic Arts on its website - pointing out the EA Play Live Show tonight. In the show scheduled for 7 p.m., there are news about Battlefield 2042. DICE agrees to the announcement with a video recently released on social channels. There is not much to see at first glance. Resourceful fans want to have found out, however, that behind the blurred images there are excerpts from the Valparaiso map.YouTube user "VickeP" stopped the image excerpts and loaded the best frames into an image processing program - and finally the scenes shared on Reddit. Users quickly came to the conclusion that this could only be the Valparaiso card from Battlefield Bad Company 2. The scenes from the teaser video and from the game are available in the video included below. The map includes, for example, a fishing village and vehicles and is particularly suitable for quick firefights and sniper skirmishes. It is possible that DICE will bring back a refurbished version of the map for Battlefield 2042 (buy now 59.99 €).
The insider Tom Henderson, who is known in the BF community, recently reported that the new mode was working could be "Battlehub", which brings back a number of classic cards, including Metro, Locker and Wake Island. Another fan favorite could come back to the screens in Battlefield 2042 with Valparaiso. Earlier this month, DICE had already confirmed the return of some retro maps for Battlefield 2042. Battlefield 2042 beta release date reveal today? News coming at EA Play Live 2021
With the Battlefield 2042 playtest scheduled to take place at some point this summer, an announcement during today's EA Play Live 2021 event would make sense - timing wise.
We'll have to wait and see whether that ends up being the case.
But in the meantime the official Battlefield Twitter account is teasing the reveal of a third mode for Battlefield 2042 during EA Play Live today.
EA and DICE have already announced the massive 128 player battle royale mode for Battlefield 2042, and also announced the more smaller scale Hazard Zone mode - which is a squad-based affair.
And leaks have claimed that the third, unannounced Battlefield 2042 mode will be called Battlefield Hub.
It's been claimed this mode will be a sandbox experience with remastered maps from the series history.
