PlayStation Store, Scarlet Nexus and Metro Exodus

PlayStation Store

PlayStation Store sees the arrival in the week of 21 to 27 June 2021 of Scarlet Nexus, the fascinating anime-style action RPG produced by Bandai Namco, which projects us into a future where humans have developed their brain abilities but come threatened by hordes of monsters called Strangers who want to devour their brains.

A few days earlier, the PS5 version of Metro Exodus also landed on the Sony digital platform. of the Metro saga, this time with dynamic 4K graphics, 60 fps and the addition of ray tracing to make the visual impact of the game even better.

There are however also other releases of great interest: from Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance to Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX, passing through the sporty Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games: The Official Videogame and for the return of the classic Legend of Mana, which arrives on PlayStation 4 with an interesting remaster.

Scarlet Nexus

Scarlet Nexus, Yuito Sumeragi is one of the two protagonists. Set in a society of the future in which the vast majority of humans have developed brain abilities above normal, which however have somehow brought about the arrival of a horde of frightening monsters called White Walkers, Scarlet Nexus , € 99) is the new anime-style action RPG produced by Bandai Namco.

Scarlet Nexus is characterized by a double campaign in which we will be able to play the role of Yuito Sumeragi or Kasane Randall, so as to experience the events narratives from different points of view and also being able to count on alternative gameplay mechanics, determined by the presence of different teammates.

Scarlet Nexus, Kasane and Yuito wrapped in strings Yuito, Kasane and their friends are in fact part of the FSE, a military division made up of people with psychic powers: the only weapon capable of stopping the White Walkers. Engaged in frantic fights with these absurd monsters, with a completely crazy design, we will be able to gradually unlock new skills and thus enrich an absolutely spectacular repertoire of moves.

Beautiful to see thanks to a clever use of cel shading, terribly inspired on the artistic front and equipped with a really solid combat system, which grows from chapter to chapter, Scarlet Nexus pays duty in terms of scenarios and structure, since the missions tend to repeat themselves and often send us to the same places. A defect that however does not affect the great qualities of this title.

Metro Exodus

Metro Exodus, a dialogue with Anna while the train takes us to an unprecedented place. More than two years after the original publication, Metro Exodus (PS5, € 39.99) also lands on the new Sony console, with the possibility of a free upgrade for owners of the PS4 edition and some important technical innovations: a resolution brought to Dynamic 4K, 60 frames per second, faster loading and the implementation of ray tracing, able to substantially improve the visual rendering of the game.

Structurally, Ayrtom's adventure does not change: after twenty ' years spent surviving in the tunnels from the Moscow subways, the man has not lost hope that there is still an uncontaminated place on the surface, and one day together with his wife Anna and his Spartan companions he decides to get on a train and discover finally where is this promised land.

Metro Exodus, a spectacular combat phase. Equipped with large and open environments but not a real open world, Metro Exodus draws on the tradition of survival to give us an experience in which planning is fundamental, moving day or night profoundly changes the amount of pitfalls that we will find along. the path and saving the life of an enemy can be worth an extra reward.

The shooter mechanics therefore lend themselves to different interpretations, with the possibility of carrying out stealth eliminations, lethal or not, and of using silenced weapons or face the opponents on duty openly, whether they are men or mutants, and give life to frenetic and spectacular clashes, which very often take place in the open air rather than in the darkness of the galleries.

Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance

Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance, the heroes face the enemy. The Forgotten Realms return to the limelight with Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance (PS5 and PS4, € 39.99), the new cooperative action developed by Tuque Games that will take us to the mysterious Valley of the Icy Wind to face hordes of dangerous enemies to defend the world from a terrible threat. A mission that will see us control iconic characters such as Drizzt, Bruenor, Catti-brie and Wulfgar, all with their own unique weapons and abilities.

Despite the excellent premises, unfortunately the making of Dark Alliance leaves something to be desired : the game suffers from a series of more or less serious technical problems, from woody animations and, above all, from a severely limited artificial intelligence regarding enemies. The hope is that the authors will be able to fix these flaws quickly and realize what was their original vision of the experience.
