Fortnite: Season 7 starts today - trailer and new information about the big update

Fortnite is down: Epic Games is currently preparing to unlock Season 7 "Invasion". Together with the start of the new season, the 17.00 update will be available for download, which will add new content for the Battle Royale shooter. The Leaker Hypex, known in the Fortnite community, is already showing a first preview on Twitter of the new things that the BR shooter has in store with the new season. There is also a picture of the map, which we have included for you below. He also reports on a new Recon Scanner weapon that causes 98 damage to your opponents and takes 3.6 seconds to reload - there are two rounds in the magazine Coming into play with Season 7 at Fortnite, Hypex also expresses itself. There is also Shadow Superman and a skin for Rick from the popular Rick & Morty series. There is also a new pet and a new season 7 screen, which is optically based on the theme of the new season - this time everything revolves around UFOs and aliens. The same applies to the designs of individual weapons, which from now on appear more futuristic than before.

There is also a new loading screen to be seen at the start of Season 7 (see picture above). We have included the highlights below. Here’s The New ‘Fortnite’ Season 7 Alien Map And All The Changes

Fortnite season 7 is here and the map has been invaded by aliens who…generally speaking do not come in peace. But the agency sent to respond to them doesn’t play so nice either, it turns out.

A new season means changes to the map, and there are a few significant ones that you’ll find when you boot up the map today. Here’s what it looks like once you clear up all the new zones. Note the giant half circle bit of shade that is the massive mothership:

Hot Zones

When you load in to a game, you will notice that there will be certain named zones that have purple name tags. These are “hot zones” where there is a human versus alien conflict going on, and both sides will not hesitate to blast you. On the ground, there is some sort of agency called “IO” that has futuristic weapons and they will shoot you on sight. And flying around are alien saucers (which you can commandeer if you’re lucky) that will also blast you with giant cannons if you’re not careful. Lots of good weapons here but lots of risk.

The Aftermath

The giant alien mothership looming in the sky has extracted the Spire/Zero point from the center of the map which is now a yawning chasm. The entire zone is corrupted by purple alien flora, as are other select patches of land scattered around the map. They make weird sounds when you’re near them, but so far as I can tell, they don’t actually do anything else yet.

This was the welcoming zone for the aliens’ arrival, as Fortnite citizens were celebrating their coming like those idiots from Independence Day who got zapped. It’s just a party zone here with Alien graffiti, bouncy floats and sand crop circles.

The farm, the central point of contact last season where the original crop circles were, has been turned into a facility to study or fight the aliens, and it’s been altered a bit with some upgraded technology. It can be a “hot zone” like the other named areas.

IO Dish Facilities

These are most of the new clouded areas all over the map, and they are usually occupied by IO guards surrounding giant radar dishes. I’m not sure if they serve some specific purpose other than being a good collection of loot, but I am guessing there will be challenges there in the future.

I am sure there is more to discover but we are in the early hours here so that’s all I’ve got for now. I saw something about a crashed alien ship in what looked to be an underground area, so not sure if that’s lurking around somewhere I haven’t found yet. But more to come.
