Just a few days ago, the well-known publisher Electronic Arts presented the new part of the Battlefield multiplayer shooter series. The game will be released in October and will be titled Battlefield 2042. While gamers have to forego a single-player campaign, the developers of the new Battlefield are completely focusing on online multiplayer. Now EA has revealed the prices for Battlefield 2042 - and they are higher for the new Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X / S consoles than for PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One. Gold and Ultimate Editions with additional content are even more expensive.

The cheapest for PC

The PC version of Battlefield 2042 (buy now € 59.99) is the cheapest at € 59.99 for the standard edition. 89.99 euros are due for the Gold Edition, which, in addition to the actual game, also includes the so-called "Year 1 Pack". This includes four additional specialists and four battle passes for the four seasons of the first year after release. There are also three skins in the epic category "Blistered Earth", "Tempest" and "Cold Blood". At 109.99 euros the most expensive for PC is the Ultimate Edition, which in addition to all the content of the Gold Edition also has the "Midnight Ultimate Bundle" which includes the "Shadow Stalker Legendary" outfit, the "Obsidian Legendary" weapon skin and includes the "Onyx Legendary" vehicle skin. On top of that, there's an official art book and the game's digital soundtrack exclusively.

Standard Edition only for old consoles

The versions for the last-gen consoles Playstation 4 and Xbox One are more expensive than the versions of Battlefield 2042 for the PC. Here EA requires 69.99 euros each for the Standard Edition, i.e. exactly 10 euros more. Electronic Arts only offers this version of the game for the two older consoles from Sony and Microsoft, Gold and Ultimate Editions are currently not available for pre-order.

Much more expensive for PS5 and Xbox Series X / S

The most expensive is Battlefield 2042 for Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X / S. Even the standard edition of the first-person shooter costs 79.99 euros - that is, 20 euros more expensive than for a PC. For the Gold or Ultimate Edition, the new consoles even cost 99.99 euros and 119.99 euros. Here the price difference to the PC version is again 10 euros.

Bonus for all pre-orderers
