Is Blizzard working on games not yet announced
Blizzard is currently working on many titles, including Diablo 4, Overwatch 2, and Diablo Immortal, to name a few. However, it would appear that many more titles are currently in the works in Activision Blizzard's studios, according to Ion Hazzikostas. In fact, in a recent interview with IGN, the director of World of Warcraft spoke about the recent internal reorganization of the company, including the abandonment of Jeff Kaplan himself.To the microphones of the magazine, in fact, Hazzikostas explained that the working environment they are in is very positive and that they are currently looking to the future after the recent structural changes. He stated that “we are moving towards a really exciting time. People have seen what's on with Diablo 4 and Overwatch 2 and are incredibly excited about both games. " The World of Warcraft director later revealed that Blizzard has new games to announce and relatively quickly.
“We have other projects in the works, and I think people all over the world will soon see what they are. we are doing, and I can't wait to share it with them ”. Hazzikostas reported that the development times of Blizzard's titles are particularly long because the company cares a lot about its working processes in order to always keep the quality of the productions high. However, it is currently difficult to even speculate which projects are in development yet to be announced, as many of Activision Blizzard's IPs are receiving new titles.
However, we could think of a mobile version of World of Warcraft, since it was its director who spoke, but we could not rule out re-editions of old titles either. Blizzard is Working on a Secret Project Along With Diablo 4 and Overwatch 2
Currently, Blizzard is going through a little bit of a rough transition period. At BlizzCon 2019, the DIABLO IV and Overwatch 2 were announced, but both the game’s progress seems very slow, and recently Blizzard creators of higher rank including the Overwatch director Jeff Kaplan have left the company. It’s very clear that something is quite wrong behind the scenes at Blizzard, and also according to IGN’s Kat Bailey delves into the issues the studio is currently facing.
We have heard some of its stuff before, Activision wants more control over the company and Blizzard’s significant failure to produce new titles in a timely fashion. The recent departures from the company and making a new Blizzard-vet-staffed indie studio like Dreamhaven might be more to do with more opportunities outside of Blizzard rather than having issues within it.
Nowadays, there are a lot of folks who want to invest in new studios and Blizzard vets are in high demand. After a rough patch, today the mood at Blizzard is said to be more optimistic. Ion Hazzikostas, the WoW director has hinted about some secret project which might be in the works…
“We are about to turn the corner into a really exciting time. I think Blizzard has long development cycles. The games that we make are not games that are produced and turned around quickly in a year or two. People have seen what’s in the works with Diablo 4, with Overwatch 2, and are incredibly excited about both of those games. […] [W]e have other projects that are in the works, and I think, you know, folks across the world will be seeing before too long what we’re up to, and I can’t wait to share that with them.”
