PlayStation Store: Super Meat Boy Forever and Hitchhiker
PlayStation Store
It is a rather special week for the PlayStation Store, which, pending the upcoming news, offers a series of interesting independent productions. Among these undoubtedly stand out Super Meat Boy Forever and Hitchhiker. The first is the new chapter of the action platform series developed by Team Meat, originally characterized by hardcore mechanics that we do not find in the sequel, based on a formula different. As for Hitchhiker, it is a walking simulator with an original and fascinating story.
Super Meat Boy Forever
Super Meat Boy Forever, the traps inside a level . After the debut on PC last December, Super Meat Boy Forever (PS4, 19.99 euros with 10% discount for PlayStation Plus subscribers) arrives this week also on the Sony platform, bringing with it the big load of novelties that distinguish in a rather clear way this new chapter compared to the original, which had become a real point of reference for fans of hardcore-style action platforms. The new mechanics introduced by Team Meat are in fact those of a sort of endless runner in which you have to manage a character in constant motion, within always different levels thanks to a procedural generation system that changes the scenario, the objects in it, the inevitable pitfalls and so on. .
Super Meat Boy Forever, one of the sequences of the campaign. The end result is certainly a different experience from the one that many users had come to love, and for this inevitably a bit disappointing. However, the authors must be acknowledged the desire to substantially renew their title, focusing on a challenge that is no less intense but, simply, different.
In fact, in the game there are particularly frenetic and complicated sequences, within a context that is inevitably trial & error, in which to perfectly memorize the movements necessary from time to time to overcome the challenge, but also spectacular boss fights.
Hitchhiker
Hitchhiker, an image of the first character we will encounter in the game. Already available on the Apple Arcade platform, Hitchhiker (PS4, € 19.99) is an original walking simulator in which we follow the story of a hitchhiker struggling with five different characters, who give him a ride in their car and tell him stories. However, it only takes a few minutes for the story to take a decidedly unexpected turn ...The protagonist of the game has indeed lost his memory, he does not know where he is going or why, but the people with whom he has conversations apparently they know him, they know who he is and what he is looking for. A mystery that we will have to try to unravel in the five chapters that make up the adventure, completely based on narration and with few interactive implications.
SaGa Frontier Remastered
SaGa Frontier Remastered, a fighting sequence in turns. SaGa Frontier Remastered (PS4, 24.99 euros) is the remastered edition of the classic RPG developed by SquareSoft in 1997: a real piece of history for fans of the genre, which returns to propose its different plots and characters, the high degree of replayability and a dated but still enjoyable gameplay.Among the extras of the remaster stands the new unlockable protagonist Fuse, which brings to a total of eight characters available and which we will see in action in a campaign written by the author of the original game. There are also several contents and sequences that further enrich the narration.
Poison Control
New title by Nippon Ichi Software, Poison Control (PS4, 39.99 euros) is clearly inspired from the Persona series to put us in the shoes of a courageous young woman, Poisonette, endowed with a special power that allows her to free the soul of people from the manifestation of feelings such as fear, despair and despair.Interesting assumptions, which however, they soon leave room for a mediocre execution: despite having some valid ideas, the game fails to stand out from any point of view, offering a dull and forgettable experience, far from the true atmospheres and mechanics of the Atlus franchise.

Official PlayStation app brings back the Store wishlist in latest update
The official PlayStation App on Android, an entryway into the PlayStation Network social hub and Sony's digital game store, isn't the most well-regarded by users. It's also somewhat limited, at least compared to the tools available sitting in front of your console or on a full desktop interface. But the latest update, now in the Play Store, adds in a much-loved feature that was missing from previous versions.
The app now has the ability to add items in the PlayStation Store to your wishlist. According to some of the recent Play Store reviews, this feature was present in a previous version of the app, but got lost somewhere between two different redesigns in the last four years. Since I only ever use this for games that I'm mildly interested in but not ready to buy at full price, I'll inevitably add games to my wishlist only to buy them at a 50% discount after an email alert and then never actually download them. (If someone knows some kind of behavioral therapist for compulsive digital hoarding, I'm all ears.)
To add a game to your wishlist, tap the heart icon next to the 'Add to Cart' button on a game listing. To see your full wishlist, go back to the main PS Store tab and tap the heart icon at the top of the page, next to the hamburger menu.
The other two feature additions are focused on socializing with your fellow gamers. There's a new feature that will send you a notification when the friend of your choosing shows up as online, so you can pester them about joining that high-tier Destiny 2 raid. And if you left your console running at home and you want to stop said game invitations, you can now remotely change the online status of your PlayStation via the mobile app.
The other changes to the app are the usual 'bug fixes and improvements.' It's a free download for Android 6.0 or later, and it's also available on APK Mirror.
