In large part, however, the desire for Returnal derives from the quality of the previous productions from par te of the same team and the undoubted interest that generates its particular roguelike shooter structure and the setting halfway between science fiction and psychological horror. On the third step of the podium, but also not too far from the previous ones, the other game of this magical trio of April has also arrived, namely Outriders: a third-person shooter with online multiplayer elements always has great potential, especially when based on such a well-constructed setting and support that promises to be of considerable magnitude. Below the podium, the votes spread over a wide range of titles, among which New Pokémon Snap emerged.

Even the result of the survey proposed to readers remained uncertain until the end, hanging in the balance especially between the first two games to then reach the definitive crowning of NieR Replicant as the most anticipated game of April 2021 also in this case. It is confirmed that the Square Enix series has obtained a considerable injection of popularity thanks to Nier: Automata, and rightly the publisher has decided to take advantage of this situation to relaunch the previous game, which will now be able to enjoy a certainly higher visibility. The Square Enix shooter therefore remains among the most anticipated games of the month and could count on a good longevity, being brought to multiplayer. Below the podium, the most voted title, but slightly above the others, turns out to be Oddworld: Soulstorm, also offered among the free PS Plus games in April 2021.
