Disney Parks, Experiences and Products has just unveiled the Avengers Campus, a new themed area located within Disney California Adventure, dedicated to discovering, recruiting and training the next generation of Superheroes, opening June 4, 2021.Ken Potrock, president of Disneyland Resort, said he is thrilled to welcome guests to this new themed area, where cast members will join guests of all ages to help them find the their super powers and create special memories.
The Avengers Campus brings together the most powerful heroes on Earth for the common good and is made up of different locations, each hosted by a different Avenger to share their powers, technologies and unique acquaintances with recruits.
In the first area, called the Worldwide Engineering Brigade (abbreviated WEB), Tony Stark has assembled an incredible group of brilliant minds like Peter Parker, dedicated to l the development of new technologies that equip ordinary people to become superheroes like the Avengers. And it will be right at the WEB where guests can experience the brand new WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure, the first neighborhood Spider-Man friendly Disney attraction.
Tom Holland will reprise the role of Peter Parker and the new attraction promises fun for the whole family through an action-packed adventure, inviting guests to test their web throwing skills. Using innovative technology that has been adapted specifically for this attraction, guests will collaborate with Spidey in an effort to capture the Spider-Bots that have gone out of control.
The citadel of Guardians of the Galaxy will also be present with the attraction Mission: BREAKOUT! , already opened inside the park in 2017 and which will continue to make guests protagonists in the rescue of their favorite cosmic gang.
There will, of course, also be the Avengers Headquarters, complete with Quinjet on the roof, which will offer guests the opportunity to see some of their favorite heroes, such as Captain America, Black Panther or Black Widow. In fact, throughout the Avengers Campus, Superheroes come to life in more exciting ways than ever: from Spider-Man defying gravity as he wanders the rooftops of the WEB; to Black Panther's bodyguards who impart their wisdom to recruits and share a sense of what it means to be a member of this elite royal guard. Their leader, Okoye, is also making her first debut at a Disney park.
And not far from the Avengers headquarters, guests can explore the overgrown ruins of an ancient shrine and learn mysterious secrets from the Doctor Strange, who will train the recruits in the ways of the mystical arts by giving life to this ancient sanctuary with powerful spells.
And if anyone has an appetite, they can visit the Pym Test Kitchen and Pym Testing Labs, where they can create and enjoy different and imaginative courses: from pasta with meatballs made entirely of "impossible meat" (a 100% vegetable meat, with a very low environmental impact and the taste of real meat), to "Pym-ini", very long sandwiches and served by the slice; all accompanied by the Pingo Doce, a drink very present within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
But guests will also have the opportunity to whet their appetite at Shawarma Palace, one of the Avengers' favorite dining places later the battle of New York. And obviously several gadget and merchandise shops, which will allow each visitor to take home a souvenir of the visit, including Spider-Bots very similar to those of the WEB SLINGERS attraction.
Disneyland Resort theme parks will officially reopen to the public on April 30, 2021, with limited capacity and in compliance with health regulations, after a year of forced closure due to the health emergency.
