Xbox Series X | S and Xbox One can increase the download speed through the activation of a new option that allows you to "suspend the game" and will be made available to users, currently being tested among the members of the Xbox Insider group .As explained by Eden Marie, Xbox Engineering Lead, in the tweet below, the new option allows you to suspend the game currently in progress in order to save the internet bandwidth to be completely allocated to the download.
"Suspend in queue allows you to download at maximum speed with the security of being able to resume the suspended game, even through the quick resume on Xbox Series X | S", Marie reported on Twitter, introducing this new option.
In practice, what has been tested for Insider users and which will be made available to everyone in the next period is the possibility of pausing a game currently in progress, with the security of i can resume where it left off, to prioritize the download.
When you play a title on Xbox Series X | S and Xbox One, part of the connection bandwidth is still reserved for the game in operation, for multiplayer or any online access. Using the suspend option allows you to dedicate all the bandwidth only to the download in progress, in order to speed it up.
At this point we are awaiting further explanations on when this option can be made available to all users.
