The new Amazon center in Cividate al Piano (BG)

New expansion for Amazon's logistics network in Italy: today the group formalizes the forthcoming opening of the distribution center currently under construction in Cividate al Piano, a municipality of about 5,000 inhabitants located in the province of Bergamo. It will contribute to the creation of 900 permanent jobs in three years.

The project involves an investment of 120 million euros. This is a structure that will take into account environmental sustainability, in line with the Climate Pledge promoted by the company, powered by solar panels and other highly energy-saving systems as well as stations for charging electric cars. This is the comment by Stefano Perego, VP Amazon EU Operations.

We are proud and excited to expand our business with our first distribution center in Lombardy. Over the past decade we have invested significantly in the country and hired thousands of talented workers in a safe, modern and positive work environment who receive competitive wages and numerous benefits from day one.



The new center, the first for distribution in Lombardy, will be operational by next autumn. Perego continues.

This new investment represents further proof of our commitment to people and communities in Italy, it will allow us to create 900 new permanent jobs and to strengthen our delivery network to reach even more more customers across the country. The addition of these 900 workers will help Amazon to surpass the 10,000 permanent jobs created in Italy in just over 10 years, a result we are particularly proud of.

Positions on the official website open for those who wish to apply. The selection of warehouse operators will start in the spring. The hiring will take place at the fifth level of the National Transport and Logistics Contract with an entry salary of 1,550 euros gross.
