One of the greatest strengths of the Monster Hunter series has always been the large amount and variety of weapon types that can be used to hunt down the many creatures that populate the game world.

The new episode of the series (here is our review of Monster Hunter Rise) provides the player with fourteen different categories of weapons to choose from, each with unique and dedicated movesets and attack combos, to allow you to choose the weapon you prefer depending on the situation that you will have to face. From the largest and heaviest weapons, which therefore base their fighting style on slow but extremely effective attacks, up to lighter weapons and special weapons, such as firearms and other more particular ones, each of the categories present has both points of strength that weak points, and it will be up to you to decide which one to use depending on the monster you will have to hunt and based on your personal preferences. So let's see a description of each weapon in the game and the moveset that can be used with each of them.

Greatsword

Huge blade that brutally strikes with a wide bow, also used to defend oneself in case of necessity. The power of a full charged slash is frightening.

A weapon that recharges the spirit bar while slashing prey, and can unleash powerful spirit blade attacks. Allows technical dodges and counterattack moves.

Blade that allows you to attack quickly and closely, dodging most hits. Equipped with a shield to defend itself.

Blades hitting in quick succession. Activate Demon Mode to execute deadly vaulting around your enemies while consuming stamina.

Blunt weapon that hits hard without impeding mobility. A blow to the head can stun enemies. Allows powerful charged attacks and various moves.

A player with a hunting horn is able to create many different melody effects to improve offensive potential and defensive of their allies within the group. Spear

Highly defensive weapon whose solid shield can repel ferocious attacks while preserving mobility. Great for aggressive counter attacks and combos.
