Switch: Nintendo wiped out PlayStation in Japan, according to analyst
It has long been no secret that the Nintendo Switch is floating on a great wave of success in Japan, among other places. This dominance has now reached a new dimension. At least that's what a recent report by analyst Hideki Yasuda, who works for the Ace Research Institute, says.

According to him, the Nintendo Switch (buy now € 408.67) has meanwhile literally "wiped out the PlayStation" in Japan ". Among other things, he refers to a current graphic that shows the home consoles for which the most games have been sold in the course of 2021. Accordingly, around 99 percent of the games sold during this period go to the Nintendo Switch account. In concrete figures, the Switch has sold a little more than two million game copies, while the PS4 only sold a little more than 21,000 copies.

If you look at the sales charts for this period, you can only see one game for the PS4 in the top 30 - the first person shooter Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. The rest goes entirely to the Nintendo Switch account. The Japanese market has always been a good place for Nintendo, but the current dominance should certainly not please the competition in the form of Sony. The Xbox consoles never played a major role in Japan anyway and are left out of the big competition.
