The collaboration between LeasePlan and Oracle - world leader in cloud infrastructure and applications - for IT services started in 2012 with the implementation of Oracle on-premise technology .

Over the years, Oracle has become the platform of choice for LeasePlan's many mission-critical applications for delivering the company's mobility and vehicle rental business services. At the end of 2019 LeasePlan Italia decided to renew the Oracle environment with the upgrade of the entire Oracle architecture and applications to the latest version of the components, simultaneously migrating everything to the new cloud infrastructure, based on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.

The OCI solution was chosen because it is able to ensure several advantages, such as cutting-edge technologies, great agility and on-demand scalability, to guarantee business continuity, and compliance in terms of security, all as out-of-the-box service. The Kick-off of the project was held at the end of 2019 and the new system has been up and running in production since July 20, 2020.
