Diablo 2 Resurrected: Original remains, alpha test coming soon & more information
Diablo 2 Resurrected
Blizzard has listened to the wishes of the fans - and announced a new version of Diablo 2. Resurrected is not a remake, but a remaster with technical improvements. In a recent interview, designer Andre Abrahamian explains that both games will be available separately on Battle.net - the original will not be replaced by the resurrected version. Therefore, Diablo 2 can still be played and bought in the original version.Diablo 2 Resurrected should come on the market in 2021. Unlike the original, the remaster is not only available for PC, but also for PS4 / PS5, Xbox One / Xbox Series X and Nintendo Switch. In the interview mentioned, producer Matthew Cederquist adds that an alpha test will take place "shortly", in which Diablo 2 Resurrected can be tried out - a specific date has not yet been set. In this way, the developers want to collect feedback from the players, which should be taken into account for further work. Blizzard and the developers of Vicarious Visions want to carefully heave the hack and slay classic into the modern one: The resurrected version should not receive any innovations that are too far removed from the original.
