Call of Duty 2021: developer for new shooter episode seems to be certain
In the past few weeks, the rumor mill about the new first person shooter Call of Duty 2021 (at least that is the unofficial project name) has been a little stronger. Among other things, there was speculation that the next episode of the shooter series should be set in the turmoil of a fictional Third World War. That seems to have broken down again in the meantime, but now there is at least one more reference to the responsible developer studio.
As "ModernWarzone" recently announced via Twitter, these are supposedly sledgehammer games. This name should be familiar to long-time fans of the shooter series. The team was responsible for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (2014) and Call of Duty: WW2 (2017), among others. Since then, it has by no means been idle, as they have supported Infinity Ward with the work on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and also had their fingers in the game with the latest offshoot Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War (buy now 53.99 €). However, the 2021 episode would again be a game where Sledgehammer Games would have primary responsibility. The team definitely has sufficient know-how in dealing with the series.

However, "ModernWarzone" is considered a very reliable source for leaks and information about the Call-of-Duty series, so there is some truth to the whole thing. In addition, it is not the first time that the name Sledgehammer Games has been associated with Call of Duty 2021.
