BioWare: Farewells in the team do not undermine ongoing projects
The news was posted on the official BioWare blog, in order to inform fans of the departure of two central figures of the team. From their side, there is talk of the desire to "try something different". Sadly, Casey Hudson and Mark Darrah aren't the first to say "goodbye" to the team and this is certainly not pleasant for the fans. Nonetheless, the Canadian software house does not spread discontent in the face of what happened.
"I want to personally thank Casey and Mark for everything they have done for the BioWare community, and especially for our players. They will always be an essential part of the studio's story, "this is what can be read from the official announcement on the BioWare blog. The post goes on to reassure fans that although several key members have left the company to move to new horizons, the team remains confident thinking ahead.
Samantha Ryan, from Warner Brothers Games, will continue to oversee the team's work, while former Blizzard developer Christian Dailey takes the helm of the Dragon Age and Dragon Age 4 series. Leading the Mass Effect series, however, will be Mike Gamble, whose experience can only benefit the franchise. Still missing a replacement for Casey Hudson. Nominations are still open, but BioWare already has in mind "high-level people" who may soon join the team, people who, as they have communicated, have "a deep love and respect for the legacy of the firm" and that "embody the values of this team while helping to carry on the incredible legacy of BioWare".
