Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS spotted in the curves of the Nurburgring
The Porsche Cayman 718 GT4 represents, to date, perhaps one of the best sports cars on the planet; characterized by a powerful central engine assisted by a refined manual gearbox, the small coupé of the Stuttgart house ensures a constant and high level of fun.
It is an extreme supercar and not suitable for everyone, however despite this aspect seems that Porsche is close to officially presenting the RS variant, the protagonist of this new series of spy photos. Announced in the summer of 2019 by Markus Baumann, developer of the famous boxer engine that equips it, some rumors suggest that the 718 Cayman GT4 RS could hit the market in a few months.
Meanwhile, the car has been traditionally spotted among the curves of Green Hell wearing the classic camouflage necessary to hide some important pre-production details. Despite the showy camouflages, it is easy to notice some elements directly inherited from the world of motorsport such as, for example, the imposing rear wing and the single nut wheels.
Powering the supercar, once again, the 4-liter naturally aspirated 6-cylinder boxer capable of delivering almost 500 hp on this occasion, about 100 hp more than the current GT4 variant. The exasperated aerodynamics and the increase in power will be just some of the changes that Porsche has planned for this new model. According to what has emerged so far, there will also be a further lowered and refined trim, a revised exhaust and other mechanical changes aimed at making the GT4 RS even more precise between the curbs.
Price? There are still few rumors about it, even if it is legitimate to imagine a positioning between the current Cayman 718 GT4 and the previous 991.2 GT3, ie in a price range of between 100 thousand and 160 thousand euros. The price increase will certainly be important but justified by the continuous and in-depth work carried out by the Stuttgart manufacturer.
We therefore have to wait for the official debut which could materialize on the occasion of the presentation of the future 992 GT3, already partially shown during the past month.
