League of Legends Wild Rift: LoL debuts on mobile, everything you need to know
League of Legends, the most popular MOBA in the world, is now available in Beta also on smartphones and tablets with League of Legends Wild Rift, much more than a simple portable version of League.

The Riot Games team has wanted to depart from the major work just enough to be able to make the title enjoyable on mobile devices. This means that the philosophy that permeates the League experience has not been distorted but rather readjusted. In fact, harnessing the nature of such a complex title in screens of a few centimeters, without physical controls, is no small feat. The mapping of the commands basically follows what is now the standard for pocket products belonging to the same genre. As for the items with which to customize the champion's equipment, the development team has studied a quick purchase system. At the beginning of the match, users will be able to choose from some predefined sets.

The work of deconstructing the traditional game experience of League of Legends and its consequent adjustment to new standards has led to many other aspects being revised such as the legendary Summoner's Rift. The map, in this pocket version, appears slightly smaller than the one proposed on PC. There will be no inhibitors and the Nexus will have no towers to defend it and we point out that the seasonal updates will not follow those published on PC.

The development team seems to have also worked to optimize the application and allow it to be installed on older mobile devices, without compromising too much gameplay and fluidity at 60 fps. As for the minimum requirements we are talking about Android smartphones we are talking about a 4 Core 1.5 Ghz processor or higher, at least 1.5 GB of RAM and a screen with 1280x720 resolution. On the iOS front, compatibility starts from the iPhone 6 Plus model to go up. Finally, as regards the future road map, the developers have anticipated in an interview with the LoL Wild Rift team that not only new champions and unreleased events will arrive on a regular basis but also exclusive skins. Additionally, in 2021 we will see the birth of a more regulated and more structured League of Legends Wild Rift esports scene.

Ultimately, League of Legends Wild Rift has potential. Now we are curious to understand if the heavy name it bears will be able to make Western users love pocket MOBAs.
