Everspace 2 in the early access test: ray of light in space + video
Those who like to cruise through space in their free time are spoiled for choice: May it be some arcade shooting fun like in Rebel Galaxy Outlaw? A gigantic playground like No Man's Sky? Or would you prefer Elite Dangerous, a space epic to sink into? All games have their strengths, weaknesses and idiosyncrasies - but none was like Everspace. Four years ago, the space action game not only scored with grippy dogfights and a stylish look, but also relied on a real roguelike mechanic. A unique selling point that goes overboard in the successor: Everspace 2 is now following the path of freelance, which is still (rightly) adored by many fans today. As promised in the Kickstarter campaign, the Hamburg-based developer studio Rockfish Games deliberately refrains from multiplayer, and that's a good thing: Everspace 2 is a pure single-player adventure that combines crisp space battles with role-play elements, a dense story and motivating prey hunt. That already makes a great impression in the Early Access version!
