e-tron GT, Audi's 600 hp electric sports car, will debut in February
The new Audi e-tron GT, whose production has already been underway for several months, will be previewed by the Teutonic brand on February 9th. The super electric sedan, which inherits the platform and part of the Porsche Taycan technology, is already available for pre-order, also in Italy, at a starting price of 138 thousand euros.
Marc Lichte, head of Audi design, defined the e-tron GT as the most beautiful car he has ever designed, underlining the harmonious style of the bodywork and the family feeling that unites the cars of the house of the Four Rings. Short overhangs, long wheelbase, sleek cockpit, here are some of the numerous technical aspects of the new sports car expected for the next month. The design is naturally inspired by that of a Gran Turismo which takes on, in this case, more aerodynamic lines optimized for reduced fuel consumption and noise.
e-tron GT also benefits from an entire supply chain in the name of sustainability , advanced and efficient, capable of guaranteeing production using exclusively renewable energy: a decidedly important milestone for the brand. Finally, the e-tron GT is the first car of the Group for which it was possible, thanks to a refined digitalization process, to renounce a physical prototype to test the assembly processes.
The new electric sports car is not it will only be a concentrate of technology and sustainability, but will also adopt cutting-edge solutions in terms of technical specifications. There are two power variants planned by Audi: the first with 440 hp and, the more powerful, called the RS e-tron GT with 598 hp which will later become 646 hp with the help of overboost. The expected and declared performances are really noteworthy; the more performing version should cover the sprint from 0 to 100 in just 3.5 seconds and reach a maximum speed (self-limited) of 250 km / h.
As per Audi tradition, the Quattro all-wheel drive is expected which, in this case, will be characterized by the presence of an electric motor for each axle; the front one will be equipped with a single gear, while the rear one will have two gears available to ensure maximum performance. A steering rear axle is also included as standard, capable of virtually reducing the wheelbase of the car and allowing simpler and more intuitive maneuvers at low speeds.
Thanks to the presence of an 84 kWh battery pack, rechargeable up to 270 kW, the weight should be around 2300 kg in running order. Despite the high mass, Audi ensures a weight distribution close to 50:50, like a real sports car.
No clear information on autonomy even if, some rumors suggest a maximum mileage of 450 km . Finally, numerous accessories are available, from high-performance carbon ceramic brakes to 21 "alloy wheels.
See you next February 9 to find out all the information on the new e-tron GT.
