Cashback: PagoBANCOMAT transactions for December
New intervention by PagoPA regarding the State Cashback and more specifically the Christmas Extra Cashback, the first experimental phase of the initiative staged from 8 to 31 December: all PagoBANCOMAT transactions carried out in the period have been acquired and a recalculation of accumulated reimbursements is in progress. The credit will take place via bank transfer as expected by the end of February to the IBAN indicated by the participants.
For the participants involved, the calculation of the refunds for the Christmas Extra Cashback is being updated. The crediting of the accrued amounts will take place within the deadlines already foreseen.
The data transmission is now completed. The updated count will be shown within the next few days in the IO application and in those of the affiliated issuers.
These last flows have already been acquired by the Cashback system, to allow the timely updating of the counts relating to the experimental phase. Following this update, some program participants may be entitled to receive a refund of the Christmas Extra Cashback (i.e. reaching the minimum threshold of 10 transactions required) or, in other cases, may be entitled to a refund of an amount higher than that already notified.
We remind you that the second phase of the initiative, the one started on January 1st and which will end on June 30th, will also award the 1,500 euro Super Cashback to citizens in the first 100,000 positions in the ranking drawn up by number of transactions. Unfortunately, this has already triggered some behaviors that, although not officially considered illegitimate, we can consider as forcing or abuses of the system set up: there are those who refuel from 2.44 euros to self-service service stations.
▷ What to do if a transaction does not appear on the IO app? We must first wait: transactions are registered with a certain slowness as they must first be processed by the reference payment system. If after several days an operation does not appear, it is necessary to investigate the reasons (see here) and in extreme cases file a complaint (see how).

Cashback: all the December PagoBANCOMAT transactions acquired
The responsibility for what happened is to be attributed to a technical anomaly detected by Bancomat SpA during the monitoring and verification of expenses made in the last month of 2020 through electronic payment tools activated for the first installment of the Cashback. The days involved are those of 18 and 29 December: there was a problem during the transmission of some transactions carried out on the PagoBANCOMAT circuit to the system managed by PagoPA for the refund calculation operations. The data transmission is now completed. The updated count will be shown within the next few days in the IO application and in those of the affiliated issuers.
